In a refined pre-war building in Lenox Hill, a stark apartment was transformed into an opulent haven. Partnering with architect Richard Cameron of Atelier & Co., we enhanced this modest two-bedroom apartment with rich decorative details that harmonize with the building's grand architecture. The 12-story structure on Lexington Avenue, emblematic of early 20th-century high-rise living, was designed by the renowned Rouse & Goldstone firm, known for their "modern apartment houses." The apartment boasts high ceilings, two original fireplaces, and expansive windows. The clients, enthusiasts of architectural history, sought classical elements such as pilasters and acanthus leaf plaster moldings. Whenever possible, existing millwork and moldings were restored, with new moldings crafted to enhance the architectural grandeur.
