Great episode boys, one of the best ones to date. Amongst rec or "semi-professional" bettors I think there is a mix of both camps described by Rob and Johnny around 20:00 to 23:00, and I agree the younger generations skews closer to the big bomb banger/hype/tail picks. On a side note, your boy Simon Hunter said he'll often haggle with different books to get prices and lines not available to the public - how accurate is this?

I top down because I am self aware enough to know I can't cap better than the books with a fullt time job and 2 kids. There may be a time I can originate but people underestimate how much skill you can bring to top down. I have seen a very good ROI so far I think because I use my own tool and don't buy an odds screen. My data is unique and I am constantly enhancing my process and tracking my data. Everyone has their own path and mine right now is to try and be the best top down player out there.

The conversation at 1.07 is kinda interesting. Have worked at books and have seen this approach where they use sharp players to move lines off that are betting very small. If a sharp guy spots this they absolutely should be sending in a new account and using their $8-10 bets to move line in their favour for the full limit account to get better EV off!

Exactly. Makes no sense at all. Bet the "wrong side for 50" and have another account coming in after. These guys are obviously brilliant. Something doesn't add up

@@747Approach wuldnt the books aggregate the sharp players tho if thers one guy trying to manipulate price but others sharps arnt i wuld say books wont give too much of a shit about wht hes doin

unfortunately i don't have to worry about being banned. you should set up a sportsbetting school modeled on the poker schools

@ 15:21 shipper said the optimal way to run a rec book is to limit people/call cust. Service em', because they get the data for free, watching a circa line move for instance, but the director from Circa sports book was on with G stack george and said they would move lines just to watch the board light up and mess with the rec books. So it's not the optimal way.

When I calculate my edge with probability and odds payout. Do I use implied prob. or actual prob. by de-vigging??

You use your probability and subtract the sportsbook odds converted to a percentage

Books in Ontario are required by the AGCO to spend a certain % of their marketing $$s on responsible gaming. They're forced to make that PR push.

Is he still working for these books? Because it seemed like he was doing some incredible mental gymnastics around the topic of responsible gaming and limiting winners.

New viewer. Great content. Rob, you're a winning bettor, Pinnacle will take all your action, why the need to scour for soft books and deal with all the limiting/banning/time waste?
@CirclesOffHQ

Rob is a big proponent of being price sensitive and looking for the best possible price. Pinnacle is a great book with low margins but they will not have the best price in market 100% of the time.

I'm not sure about the older generations but I dont think these tiktok tablet kids donating to NPC tiktok Streams are gunna have the intellectual capability to originate so the future will be top down for a bit .........Until there's too much top down and the books start using biometrics( facial Recogniton) software which will stop all syndicates and partnerships due to the actual person with name on account having to physically be in the room to log in. (A company in the uk has already tried to promote biometrics to prevent arbitrage.) My prediction tiktok kids turn 18 and there's an influx in top down and then biometrics comes in and originating is the only option. Ooooohhhh!! top down soooo good!! Ride it like a top down boy!! Ride it like a top down boy!!
