If you are a non-resident you can only buy a plot with planning permission to build a holiday home in the touristic regions where foreigners allowed to buy holiday homes.

Verbier used to be really nice, but the nouveau rich found it. Now it just isn't. The Farinet used to have tables you could dance on, but they changed it to concrete 'things', and killed it. Mont Fort is just full of 'wannabees'. The same happened to Mykonos in Greece. The 'celebs' gound it, and now it just lost its charm.
