This residence consists of five connecting blocks and has a built-up area of 3,572 sq ft designed around a slightly sloping terrain. Beyond the concealed wooden front door lies a minimalist home where different living areas are demarcated by light and shadow, with a series of small but carefully manicured gardens peppered throughout the property.

But it doesn't get very cold in tokyo. heating and aircon costs would be minimal with the gardens keeping things moderate temp.

After being stationed in Yokosuka Japan for almost 8 years, living in Hayama in a old unheated but very nice little house, Bicycling to work even in the rain, only having seen snow one time about 3 inches deep till it melted soon after I'd disagree but my family and I did have thick blankets and portable Kerosine heaters in the bedroom at night! On the other hand The Mountainous areas, Hokeido, and the north do get very cold especially near to Siberia, Russia Cold to some but not to others maybe?

Like, but it doesn't look liv'd in yet it needs some artwork/contrast with barren walls and those shape concrete edges.

This is a very beautiful house, no doubt about it. But it seems it is more for winning architectural awards than for a family to live it.But it might be just because of lacking household items.

This contruction has the aura of a "house" not a "home" - cold, separate, awkward connection between interior appliances and exterior nature (plants). The homeowner said she has to step deep inside the house to see the garden - things I never expect when come home from work, not to mention the window through the garden which is under the eyesight when you stand. Despite the potential massive source of light from the gardens, we can still see the family use the lights all over inside the house. With the BBQ thing, I expect a big garden where this to be held but instead I get a small one - half garden half inside of the house. I still don't have the excitement in me when I first see this product, just a big "nope", which is kinda strange since I am in love with Japanese house like Nobita's home in the Doraemon manga.
