In 2011, I went to see my first Lightning game. Game 6. ECF vs. Bruins. In this very building, I feel in love with this team. Now, I finally got to experience what it means to see my team win Lord Stanley's Cup. I was young and didn't know about hockey back in 04 but now the joy this building felt back on that day, I finally got to experience that joy and the tears that come along with it. The boys did it. Stammer and Hedman get their names immortalized on the Cup they have been chasing their whole career. We are blessed to have players like them to represent this city. #GoBolts

Kind of funny to think about... for us, we have been Lightning Full Season Ticket Holders for near 2 decades and rarely missed a regular season game.. and to now go through this incredible run and not even see one game in person was gut wrenching. But we are all in this together and we're glad we got to watch hockey again... and of course win the Cup!

I was as happy as I have ever been for a team I don't cheer for when the Blues won. The first time a team I have no ties with actually got me cheering when I saw the 3rd goal in game 7 vs the Bruins last year to go up 3-0. I lived outside Tampa for a while and they became my home away from home team. Not the first ones I cheer for but the ones I cheer for when my home team is out and Lightning fans are great. I'm so happy for the team and Tampa's dedicated fans. They're not the largest fan base but they love their team.

Last time I was there it was St. Pete Times Arena. While not my home team, living near Tampa for 7 years gave me a love for the Lightning. I'll always cheer for them when my home team is out and it's great to see this. This team, after last season, really redeemed itself and they deserved it. After coming up just short in 2015 in game 6 and 2016 in game 7 of the ECF, losing a season to injuries, losing to the Caps, stunned by the Jackets and still keeping Cooper around, this is so deserved to me. They went through so many highs and lows to get this. I feel for Khudobin and the Stars but I just think the Bolts deserved and earned this one, baby. I got to watch my favorite team win several cups in my life, watch two tortured teams win their first in the past two seasons and see my 2nd home team win this year and in 2004. I am quite lucky with hockey. Excluding 2011 because fuck the Bruins.

Rogers Place is a super world class arena that at 1/3 capacity could have had 6000 people in it. The total number of virus victims during the Finals run in Edmonton averaged 350 per day in a city of 900,000 people. With it being a brand new building it would have been nice to see a few people there anyway.

Outside the arena was packed, and everyone in Tampa bay was watching this game. On any normal given home game, that stadium is PACKED. This is the only sport in Tampa that matters.
