First of all let me explain how union works! You all have to become a member. So that means the fee, could be $1000 so every pay check a certain amount will be deducted from your paycheck thats not including union dues for that month. until the whole amount is paid to become a member. So once thats taken care of you will go by seniority for job bins. The lowest man hired will work most of the over time. The highest with seniority no need to stay unless mandatory. The thing is eventually you all will be making the same about of money . most of shop stewards say they are their for you, but majority of them side with company. Oh yeah they get you all gun hold,protesting for the union. But yet you still pay for medical insurance,union dues,. There's nothing different without the union. The union will be making the money for all new member fees, monthly union dues. The company could mandatory working every weekend, or over time. Its the company that calls the shots. The union is only there to try to protect your job. No your not going make the big bucks, don't forget every so many years there needs to be a renewal for contracts " its either wage increase,medical cost increase there's ALWAYS something to be taken away! The union will not give you work incentives, union will not give stocks from Amazon . Union will give Christmas parties or $50.00 gift cards
