He lost because, ultimately, he was style over substance. At 17:05, for example, look at his face when asked about 50-A; that look of utter confusion is not reassuring in the least. Imagine if there's a fire in your office and Yang was your fire warden, or boss or whoever is supposed to lead an evacuation, you turn to Andrew, ask him what to do, and he gives you that 17:05 look. I mean, at that point, I think everyone would rather depend on the fire itself to get them to safety.

Nope. Nope nope. Every single 2020 dem presidential candidate signed a pledge to endorse the eventual nominee, which was Joe Biden, which is what Andrew did. For a brief time period in between Andrew dropping out and Andrew endorsing Joe, Andrew made his endorsement available to literally anyone who would adopt universal basic income. Which Bernie did not. Bernie didn't even offer his own UBI proposal. Which is why Andrew didn't endorse Bernie. AOC has been vocally against Yang's UBI model and so it makes no sense in the world for Yang to try and court her supporters. There was also a coordinated negative media campaign against him. A lot of the local news stories had a strong focus negative spin. When the voters started to turn, you can hear them mention what they heard on the news. Like his voting record etc. Treating him like an outsider.

I’m glad he didn’t become mayor because what he’s doing with Forward Party could change our entire system for the better. Ranked choice voting and open primaries are the means by which we take back our democracy. Yang is the dude.

@@ampersand08 if Trump runs against Biden, Harris, Mayor Pete or any other mainstream dem, he will destroy them without anyone’s help. There are a lot of non-trump republicans, there are libertarians, independents and non-woke lefties that are looking for something different. How’s the whole “vote for the lesser of two evils” so as not to “waste your vote” going so far? I voted for Biden even though I thought he was terrible and I will not do that again. I just won’t vote, and I’m not alone. We have to change our thinking and stop acting like there’s so much to lose - it’s already lost and we need a Hail Mary.
