He doesn't even argue about freedom. He thinks that freedom means chaos, and that dictatorship is necessary for stability and food in one's mouth. All dictators argue that without them there's chaos, and that they are the guarantors of stability, security, law and order. The irony is that dictators regularly cause chaos to create this notion. Lukashenka himself argues "look at Ukraine and their war", but he forgets to mention that the entire war was not created by Ukrainian democrats, but by a Russian dictator called Wladimir Wladimirowich Putin. He funded mafiaesque separatist forces and incited a rebellion there, then sent his special forces to sow anarchy there. And then he said "look at them! Their economy is in free fall, anarchy rules, everywhere there's war! Look at what democracy does to you". They are crooks. They sell themselves as solutions to problems they had created themselves.

in Belarus its illegal to talk bad about the government. Belarus was 154th out of 178 countries in its 2010 freedom of press. Having to stay inside or wear a mask is nothing compered to the fact that you cant be against the leaders of your country or you'll get arrested.
@chriswysocki88163 жыл бұрын
@@morbiusfacebooklive This sounds like a wise response but it is actually far from being well thought-out. Yes, I agree that censorship and lack of freedom of press is bad and can lead to awful tyrannies. But realistically, how many people in Belarus are affected by this? a small percentage. Now look at most western countries. I live in Canada, for example. I"VE BEEN ARRESTED (lockdown are essentially house arrests) and that's without criticizing my government. And people who agree with the government also get home arrested. HOW IS THAT BETTER THAN BELARUS? Another big problem. I lost my business, which I've invested my life's savings. That's the equivalent of the government expropriating me, worse, taking my business away (because of a panic over an illness that has sub-one-percent mortality rate. And that's true regardless if you criticize the power or not!. In short, the reality is that Belarus is ironically less authoritative than where I live, where most of us live, today
