I’m so happy to come home to this. It’s 11:24 pm now and I’ve been sitting in my lab working since 11am. Working for almost 12 hours straight without even eating too and then only to finish and find out that someone had stolen my shoes. So I walked home from Uni without shoes in rain. Oh what a day it has been. I’m glad that I get to see another Herald video after a rough day ❤️

I was born and raised in America so the history of this architecture is awe inspiring to me ! Also; because I have a degree in mechanical engineering, Before our separation into the different fields of study, We became very familiar with the different ways of building non-movable structures and objects. including the math, the statics and strength of materials and the way things needed to be built in order to be strong enough without over building things. Our fundamental drafting, and our C.A.D. and design classes got pretty deep into these territories. And to look at these marvelous old buildings that were built hundreds of years before my homeland was even a country, truly fascinates me. Going back and imagining all the things I had at my fingertips which make this planning and building all so much easier for a modern day builder (such as books that told me the strength of a brick, the weight of the building supplies, even things as normal to us as a calculator) It makes me appreciate and think that it really is amazing that these architects and builders were as ambitious as the were. thank you for this video . . peace, Eric the Eturn
@fromchopin5 жыл бұрын
The Eturn you should check out Praveed Mohan’s channel about India “Phenomenal Travel Videos” I think that’s the name of his channel . Speaking of “non movable” building, some of the ancient temples in India were actually “flexible” so that they could withstand earthquakes. Very interesting, you should check it out.

No jokes or sexual innuendos, Sir Harold is bang on the money when he says Ancient architecture and things have a life. I remember walking through an old part of Limerick city. Limerick city is synonymous with old Viking Conquest btw. this tiny church i was walking around was built by 12th century monks . it was crumbling a bit but when i walked inside i could feel an energy or a feeling indescribable. .Like a 1000 souls had passed through me. it was an amazing feeling. Something which still grabs me to this day as i walk through museums.

There is also a 2 season show about the Medici on Netflix as well. Fantastic Vlog Harald. ❤️❤️❤️
