He was raised there until the age of 21 or 22 and was decorated weightlifter already. His ancestors hail from Progonat, Tepelenë and then moved to Himara. His family still owns the rock quarries there which are still called "gurishtet e Dhimajve"

definitely don't think that's a reasoning for lifts not progressing. Strength (Squats and pulls) with always work to get you stronger, of course mobility and other variables come into play. If your explosiveness is a little weaker, do box jumps or accessories to strengthen and learn it

Yes people are born with more more fast twitch muscles which makes them more explosive, But that does not mean you can't get them. That's what the Olympic lifts are! They are explosive lifts that build fast twitch muscle fibers! But also you must obviously build strength in the squat/pull. Fire that arrogant asshole

Pyrros had a bad technique in jerk. And he paid for it. He should have done jerk with split legs, but he did the swung. Wrong! That is why he lost in his last Olympics. Could have won it easily with the right technique. Our weaknesses eventually catch up with us when we get older...

Pyros is not actually Greek, he used to train me and I have won the Greek championship when I was 18. Very cool guy, and he believes in the strength of the will, not the strength of the body. He is really a perfectionist and I have to say it is one of the moments for me to be proud of Greece.
