Thank u for taking to traveling Chernobyl shooting a video in the DANGER ZONE I get to see inside of it. The guide was awesome u couldn't of get anyone cool as that him. He's a smart man he feeds the wild dog's n do u know why. Because if the dog realize that every time he comes he will get something. he will protect him when he's there. Hay maybe u could n find the people that died in there in red square n see how high the radiation is. Thanks 4 making the video. Do don't know if there's any truth it it but some explorers where in Russia looking 4 something under ground n died under suspicious death's n the radiation levels through the roof on them. I thought if was fake because what they looking. If u know anything about this let me know please 👍by the way GREAT VIDEO

Hi Nick. I did a similar tour of Chernobyl last month. I have traveled to 115 countries since 1985. This tour was in my top handful of one day experiences, fascinating, thoughtful and intense. It really makes you think. It is incredible to see the abandoned buildings along with the trees and wild life that have come to dominate the area. I highly recommend viewing the documentaries available on you tube prior to your tour of Chernobyl. Great job Nick- my guide was also excellent- if you are near Kyiv it only takes one day, two would be preferential.

@@agent_ethan A typical flight would yeild around 5 micro Sieverts per hour. The current UK 'safe' level for employees working with radiation is 20 milli Sieverts per year as defined here :- www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2017/1075/schedule/3/made So 200 hours at 5 micro Sieverts per hour would equate to 1 milli Sievert which equates to 4,000 typical flight hours at crusing altitude per year. Civilians have a lower 'acceptable' rate of 6 milli Seiverts per year so they'd be looking at 1,200 hours (50 full days) to achieve that dose. I'm a teacher of ADR (Dangerous Goods Transport) and Class 7 (radioactives) must be one of the most miss-understood of all classes. When it goes wrong it goes badly wrong - but the safety measures are such that it rarely, very rarely goes wrong.

In many parts of the exclusion zone you are exposed to less radiation than on a commercial flight. There are a few hot spots for example graphite ejected from the reactor and equipment used by liquidators to seal in the core of reactor 4. Radiation levels are so low that people can safely live there with generally the same life expectancy as anywhere else in the world.

I didn't notice this until I read your comment, now I can't unnotice it haha
@Narxes0812066 жыл бұрын
I was going to make the same comment... way too distracting and unnecessary.
@r.chamaemorus80256 жыл бұрын
Maybe because the sentences would be like this otherwise: "Chernobyl ...ehh... is a city ...eh...uh... in ..."

This is exactly same guide as we had when I was there. Cool guy, he was eating freshly radiated grown blueberries in Pripyat when we were walking in between buildings. He is just too cool.

Very good, waiting for episode 3, I’m from Hawaii and I was 19 when this happened... I felt sorry for all those people.

It's ok, but they invented that character "Ulana Homyuk".. in reality she does and did not exist. Not very historically correct of them..

Why would you go in Winter bro? I've spent a lot of time in Ukraine. Not only is it absolutely covered in snow and ice, but it's cold as shit and you won't see very much below the billions of tons of snow.

I guess radiation is reduced by the layer of snow.

Love this video! I have visited 3 times now and still can't get enough of the place (from a photography point of view)

I got to 3 minutes only as I can't be doing with all the micro jump edits.

shroompicker23 I was wondering if anyone else found those static jumps to be as annoying as I did!
@MarcoStarink5 жыл бұрын
Yes the level of microjumps is insane and unneccesary

I visited chernobyl 2 years ago when I was on holiday in Lviv (I am from Masłow, Poland) and my parents and grandparents all suffered from radiation when the disaster happened.

I would absolutely love to continue watching this, but with the excessive amount of editing done, it's simply impossible to do.

I agree...i dont know if he realizes, that we notice he has yet to finish a whole sentence for a big portion of the vid

Utterly phenomenal! seen a few Chernobyl videos, but you rip them apart with this. Informative and educational with word for word social history "bring enough food for three days - you will not be gone long" - Igor is so knowledgeable and your interactions are excellent. Those poor dogs, freezing and potentially contaminated, even Scotland was badly effected with 10,000+ sheep being killed as not fit for human consumption. Looking forward to the others Nick, thanks mate.
