@@jdub9119 Hamauzu-san deserves to flex as hard as he wants with that accomplishment in his backpocket. What's kinda an even bigger flex is how he goes on to trivialize it as merely 'the first time I helped Uematsu-san out'. Hamauzu has grown tremendously as a composer since 1996/7...as any good composer would, of course and Im really glad how everything came full circle for him. The man can retire now and still be a legend.

That transition from the OG Prelude to the new one legitimately hit me so, so hard. I just had this rush of memories come pouring in. I remember my mom buying me this game when I was about 8 or 9 and I've been in love with this series ever since. Amidst all the turmoil in the world and my life at the moment, I'm so grateful for this game.

@@MikaMausArt Couldnt have put it any better and they have been showing making that pronouncement more and more evident these days. Uematsu is arguably a bit lacking but I imagine Square Enix sending their own 'Reno and Rude' to Uematsu's remote home in Japan and dragging him out by force to keep writing 'that singular theme' and then they return their kidnapped composer home. Shimomura is arguably the Queen of Videogame music at this time and is quite the underdog but she can name drop some of the biggest games as things she's worked on. Street Fighter, Super Mario RPG and the games on GBA, Kingdom Hearts, Xenoblade Chronicles and of course, Final Fantasy XV! I would like to talk about Hamauzu now but Im such a fan of his, Id end up writing a full thesis about him full of gushing admiration...so I wont. Id just say he's been killing it since his Final Fantasy debut in FFX. He didnt disappoint then with his surreal style and he hasnt faltered in FFXIII trilogy, World of FF or even the stuff he does with Furyu on 3DS. All amazing composers that have influenced my own composition style and continue to inspire me! Square did great to find these 'gods' so early in their company's development!

Yeah its beautiful, but not flawless after the first part of the game when U get to the slums U can see lots of low resolution backgrounds, etc. Hopefully they will fix that on the first patch. Could be problem of the Unreal Engine it has lots of the texture loading issues. OST is top notch!

@@peraryygar9951 I am not talking about you, I see a lot of people that go around and say "the game looks terrible" , look at these low res textures. But thing is, if it could be made better in the ps4 hardware, it would be. It simply cant, there is no reason what so ever that the devs would make it look worse on purpose. That is what people dont get. Uncharted 4 looks incredible for example, but there are some textures that are really low res, yet nobody talked about that, why? It wasnt a problem then and it isnt now, because as a package the game looks great, they know where to make the sacrifices for the full product to look better as a whole. You can hear it in one of the ending scenes in this game as a piano track, actually. It's more of a leitmotif/reprisal than the full remade theme though. But it was still nice to hear.

aw lucky guy, i pre ordered the deluxe edition at eb games which comes with a bonus shinra keycard, it said i can pick it up in stores at launch date which is tomorrow but its closed sue to covid 19 so ill need to wait until it reopens. the og, people at the time said that FF7 was ahead of its time and i agree, i can also say the same for this game the visuals are so appealing ps i played the OG when i was a kid and loved it, i loved both FF7 and legend of dragoon from ps1 i still have the disks to this day :D

Crimson Karma can’t articulate how much your going love this game but as one of the original players in 1997 this game is going to mean so much to you. EB games off full of BS, if they even remotely cared about honouring orders they would have gone on their data base system and contacted you via call, text message or email and ask you if they can redirect the game to your house free delivery. But they are lazy and greedy so of course they didn’t do that, it’s a liberty you have to wait even longer while the game is already out:(

@Alex - He was also referring to the music being MIDI files in the original. Not sure if you are aware of how MIDI files worked but they actually used the hardware (plystation itself) to produce sounds. Kinda cool knowing that back in the day THAT is what they relied on for a majority of sounds and STILL came up with an epic soundtrack that still lives up to this day. Really cant wait to get my hands on this one! Just over 29 hours to go!

imho the hidden star of this soundtrack is a man whom I'm sure will get more recognition in the future for his huge talent: SHOTARO SHIMA. He is the one responsible for rearranging most of the songs from OG FFVII (most notably Opening/Bombing Mission, Main Theme, Scorpion Sentinel and Rufus Shinra boss themes) and it was his first major experience as a composer (Undercity Suns, The Day Midgar Stood Still, ecc.). His arrangements are so powerful no wonder the tracks chosen for the trailers were mostly his!

If I could have one wish right now, it would be to let the people who created the music for this game, from Nobuo Uematsu through to those who handled the arrangements in the remake, just how much pure joy they have given me. I loved everything about the remake, but the music was simply a miraculous achievement. It was an impossibly perfect evocation of the original soundtrack, and the way it fit the story as it evolved and changed was just brilliant. This may very well be the greatest ever soundtrack to any game. The only other contenders would be... well, other Final Fantasy games.

There is an arrangement of two characters' theme in the Remake (no spoilers), who are basically narrative foils and it's so beautiful. The arrangement is very contrasting and yet it brings out the parallels between the two characters. Can't wait for other people to catch onto this.

The music direction is really on point and at times even pretty bold, but i liked them all. There is so much variety in terms of styles and it reframes some scenes or adds to them in interesting ways. Also was it interesting to learn about the MASTS, because the dynamic audio of the materials and equipment on the characters really stood out to me. This is quite an achievement as much as the dynamic music. I stopped more than once in the game wondering just how much time must have gone into the creative process of everything in this game. As players we often only think things like"oh Yeah, that made sense that they have done it this way", but the devs where in the situation to come up with those design decisions. This talent really can't be praised enough.

I remember buying the OST. I've loved it up until this day. Hopefully they will release an OST once it's all done. for the record I was 19 when this came out. One of my greatest wishes was to meet Mr. Uematsu in person and shake his hand for how much he has enriched my life with his music. I've bought all of the FF OST up to 10, and all the spin off albums that were only released in Japan.

Ich habe mir gestern nahezu dem gesamten Soundtrack angehört und bin überwältigt. Vielleicht der für mich beste Soundtrack überhaupt in Videospielen. Danke dafür!

@@tokobunda3691 nah. Clouds lip movements were pretty bad too. It isnt just the npcs

@@tokobunda3691 i think its all versions. The lips are too...excited for some of the things they are saying. Check out the ign review to see what i mean. The game is still amazing, thats just a problem i thought they would have fixed lol.

music is the game is amazing..greatly composed and arranged by nobuo uematsu, hamazue and mitsuo suzuki it would be even better if the soundtrack is better edited in the game

I absolutely loved how they approached the soundtracks for this game, it's like they brought to life how we imagined the music from the original game. It is way beyond my expectations. For people like me, that listen the FFVII soundtrack a lot, probably already know BitSymphony. This channel made the best fan made remake soundtrack. I was expecting Square to, with it's profissional team, at least make the music as good as of this channel. But after seeing the result, it's so much better. BitSymphony would be perfect for a HD Remaster, but this game is so epic, that the nearly classic versions of the soundtracks wouldn't fit the scenes. Can't wait to hear the true Main Theme in all it's glory, J.E.N.O.V.A., Cosmo Canyon, Highwind Theme, Cid's Theme...
