How the other half live , that is so expensive , but it's good to experience it. I had an old neighbour who used to ask my grandad to get a Harrod's shopping bag for her every time he went to London and she would walk around with her handbag in the shopping bag so people would think she was rich 😂. No toilet at Prada,,, crazy. Glad you both enjoyed yourselves 🕊️

I haven’t been to Harrods in over 20 years, generally prefer Selfridges and Oxford Street if i do instore shopping. Even Oxford Street isn’t what it used to be with so many stores gone. Mainly tourists go to Harrods for the experience.
@sandrabutler848312 күн бұрын
You would need quite a few days within the shop it covers over 1.1 million square feet and 330 departments covering six floors. I have friends who have worked and a couple who still work there and they've not seen everything. I have been using it for five decades and not covered even half of it. It's changed over the years and they move the departments around, you missed out on the food halls and there's a huge perfume hall on the ground floor

A fun Did you know fact Harrods on their top floor used to sell Wild Animals, from Wild Cats and Aligators. In the 1970s, 10 years before he became the USA president. Ronald Reagen purchased a Baby Elephant from Harrods. In 2014 Animal selling stopped in Harrods.
@cuteopiax125911 күн бұрын
My grandma used to take me to that in the 70s and 80s. Along with all the animals I remember all the pet accessories they used to sell like four poster beds for dogs and clothes for dogs (long before they were sold everywhere. I was disappointed when they closed that about 14 years ago.

On your next visit to Harrods I would recommend the amazing afternoon tea in the Georgian restaurant which is newly re-vamped. And don't miss the famous Harrods Food Hall. The store occupies a 5-acre site (x 8 floors) and has 1.1 million square feet of retail space. The entire 160,000 square feet of the 3rd floor is devoted to Home and Furniture. My wife and bought I first sofa and chairs there because they had the lowest price anywhere in the UK at the time. You can find bargains at Harrods, occasionally!

Pall Mall is a very interesting place to visit, although you wouldn't be able to gain entry into the many Old boy's club's located on the Mall unless you are invited by a member. I've been to the Reform club on many occasions (Phyllis fogg, being one of the most famous names associated ) just round the corner on Jermyn street, St James, are shops solely catered for men, not one of these shops accommodate for women, again, part of the old boy's establishment and public school elites.
