Wish you hadn't commented on her ears (which look absolutely fine and not out of the ordinary at all). I grew up thinking that my ears noticeably stuck out because my mother told me they did. 20 years later a wonderful, talented male hairstylist told me how wrong that vision of myself was - and he was objectively correct! It took a relative stranger's simple comment to make me see the truth. I'll never forget his genuine kindness. We temporarily let our guards down, become vulnerable, when we place our appearance in the hands of stylists. Your words have meaning to us. We listen. We remember. Apart from that, great makeover. She looks beautiful.

She looks beautiful. One should never make fun of something on a person that they cannot change. People come there to get their confidence lifted not chipped away at. Now she will be self-conscience of her ears.. joke or no joke, whereas maybe they did not bother her before. People come in there respecting your opinion of their appearance. I think they are good with your comments if it is something they can change and have control over.

Riku Campo From what I’ve watched (many!!!) not only does he look at the client’s hair, face, etc., but he watches their body language & expressions to what he says. As he mentioned, she wasn’t giving him any clues. Luckily it was a great makeover anyway. She looks much younger.

I think that he was a bit frustrated from the lack of feedback and expression from this client. It’s hard to move forward on a project when there is little to no guideline from the client. He did a great job and she seemed satisfied. You have to give his kind of intuitive genius a little latitude to be human.

I had a midwife who had straight WHITE hair, full head, rather curly. She couldnt have been more than mid50s. I thought to myself how pretty it was (at age 42-yeah, late baby!) Well at 54 myself now, Im looking at silver hair, but mines not near so thick. Still Ive got alot of white hair too, so Im going with what I earned. Which has nothing to do with looking younger. Looking better is the goal. Youth is not ours at 55, 60 or 70.
