RIP to one of my favorite viewers :(. She was an incredible trans Indonesian woman who was stuck in the country after visiting family due to the pandemic. Her family forcibly detransitioned her. I never heard from her again. It has been years, and I still think about her all the time. How angry and sad and hopeless it all feels to have there be people who don't even see others as human for having the nerve to exist the way they are. I believe in freedom. Freedom of religion, freedom to be who you want to be. When your religion impedes onto the freedom of other people to live a peaceful life, is when it has gone too far. Religion, empathy, kindness, freedom, do not have to be mutually exclusive things. That is a choice to be inhuman to others. Fairness to ALL Indonesians.

There is nothing in the Quran mentioned explicitly against men dressing like women, however, there are some Hadith that say otherwise and it is forbidden to change the creation of Allah, which also does not allow for plastic surgery or tattoos! The Quran however does not allow for women to dress like men, and this is clearly indicated in the verses about modesty! 4:119 "And I will mislead them, and I will arouse in them [sinful] desires, and I will command them so they will slit the ears of cattle, and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allah ." And whoever takes Satan as an ally instead of Allah has certainly sustained a clear loss." Sahih al-Bukhari 5886: "The Prophet (ﷺ) cursed effeminate men (those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners of women) and those women who assume the manners of men, and he said, "Turn them out of your houses ." The Prophet (ﷺ) turned out such-and-such man, and `Umar turned out such-and-such woman." Sunan Abi Dawud 4098: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the man who dressed like a woman and the woman who dressed like a man."

While I don't agree with much of what was going on and being said, definitely a thought provoking video. Different peoples have interpreted the Quran to fit their own lifestyles and cultural practices, and I doubt there would be as much uproar for a school from any other sect. So my thoughts are this, to you your religion and to me mine. People will believe whatever they want at the end of the day, but the issue comes when a person feels they are free to impose their views on others through violence as opposed to dialogue.

They need to respect the right of other muslin, if they want to be treated the same way. A course transpeople have the right to religion. I somewhat regret being early to this video because man... Just read at the negative comments💀 but I think it's also refreshing to see some honesty from (no doubt) Indonesian themselves. Intolerance or hate crime for trans people in my country Philippines isn't completely absent either despite having the reputation of being LGBT friendly, like the case of Jennifer Laude for example. But I'm glad that there are changes going on like protections and acknowledgement for SOGIE and basic human rights from non governmental laws. But *this* dang... idk man I'm just glad that the LGBT community is somewhat safe in my country. No one should ever be subjects to violence or discrimination just because they're different than or not what you expect a person should be. And I'm telling this on behalf of all supportive ally's :)
