My grandmother taught me to treat the Bible - not the words but the actual physical Bible - as sacred. NEVER place anything on top of the Bible. So it was a brave rebellion for me to start writing in my Bible. Then I somehow inherited Grandad’s Bible and 🫢🫢🫢 it had underlining in it and the pages were so worn they were falling out. Then I inherited my great or great-great grandfather’s Bible and guess what - writing in it. I am VINDICATED.

I’m glad there was something stronger running through your family veins than superstition! Time spent before the Lord was your great inheritance!!!

@@TearUpYourBible My grandmother gave me her Bible as my very first Bible. She had some interesting ideas (she was German) but definitely knew Christ. My road has been winding, but I found Christ for myself 50+ years ago. Thanks for the information and encouragement.

I come from a KJV only fellowship 😅 and I always wanted to explore translations. One day I went to the Bible store and went to the used Bible section and saw one big old NIV Bible that was very very old. Everything in that Bible was filled out. I mean the presentation page, weddings, births, deaths, occasions to remember and of course the little places in the margins too. It was such a refreshment to the spirit to see that Bible. Everywhere that person wrote something like "on this day I was very disturbed in the spirit and the LORD comforted me with this verse and underlined it". My learning is that we have to try more translations and write in our Bibles, we never know where it might end up and who it might motivate.😊

How are the date stamps being used? When you read that section? Or a whole book?

Just when I start reading… but I don’t use it anymore. It was fun, but it’s better for people who use a new Bible every year.

I was going to ask the same question 😅. I’ve been just writing it down. I like the stamp look to record when I was last in that part of the Bible. Thank you for sharing. I’m a fan ❤

You're undervalued and underpaid. It's unfortunate. Thank you for all you do. I buy everything I can.

Really you're going to flip through evert page of your Bible to show the markup. What's are you proving, teaching, leading, guiding, diecting your viewers? Might want to examine your motive? I feel some haughty pride going on. Hmmmm
