Thanks for deciding to come down to the roots. I wish I could've seen y'all as I live in Natchez (rhymes with matches). Jerry Lee came to town after his last marriage and I met him at the hospital in Ferriday while drawing blood for lab tests. He is a hoot! Rock on.

This is a great tribute to Jerry Lee's home town of Ferriday! I especially loved the tour of the Lewis House and the visit to the family cemetery. I imagine Linda Gail would be an incredible tour guide through all the memorabilia there. Would love to see inside Haney's Big House and wonder if the Assembly of God Church where Jerry Lee and Jimmy attended as boys is still standing/open. After a prolonged illness, Jerry Lee passed away this morning at 87 years. I'm so glad for his recent induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame and grateful for his legacy of legendary recordings.

Incredible museum and last home of Franki Gene . So many memories of a sister's love for her brother ❤️. What an amazing collection so glad you made the trip to this small yet famous town, I had no idea there were so many music artists from this area . You surprised me with the family cemetery, it's so peaceful , and the perfect place to end this story . 💛💛💛👍

It's a shame. He really had a hard life growing up. It just shows you, the way one is raised, how it effects one's life. He seemed to have been suffering inside. The only way to let some of it go, was through his music. Still it wasn't enough. He may have seemed happy, but he wasn't. He was still hurting within. Pains somehow from his childhood that followed him throughout his life. Pain that he was trying to let go of. Then the only way to run away from was through his music. Still, it wasn't enough. The only way is to give it to God. Now, Jerry is resting in peace, but his music will always live on!

He even got to meet Elvis Presley and many other celebrities like Dolly Parton. I miss all his stories. He is why I like Jerry Lee Lewis and I wish he was here now so I could show him this video. Jordan, it was (perhaps unintentionally) kinda funny when you asked the rhetorical question "why would she have knives here"? HA! it's just after I needed a laff ,after reading the obit of one of my R&R idols. yesterday Friday, Oct. 28th. the KILLER saw one last birthday a month ago.. this guy was one of the best vocalists in all of Rock OR Country. born to sing country. the Midnite special stuff from the early '70's, in particular, a mini-doc where he talks about his upbringing and career, and performs (wish I had all of that tape)is a great video. he was actually really a fine vocalist by the '70's. he did that London LP w/ Albert & Alvin Lee ,Rory Gallagher, Frampton and those British guys ,and it was outstanding. I had a boot I made of that NBC Midnite Special w/ a tape recorder, and damn, if the boots always turned out to be better performances (but mono) than the studio stuff. rest easy, Jerry Lee. thanx for a great show at the Channel in South Boston in the '80's.

Dear Jordan, as a jazz n rockabilly pianist, I was totally excited to find this vid, this morning. All of your vlidz, are killer. 1st of your vid's, that I discovered, were Hometown greats, Iggy and The Stooges, followed by Motown, and Buddy Holly, followed by the great Outlaws of Country, and Hollywood series. Cheers P.S., howza bout Little Richard, Duke Ellington and Eddie Cochran?? Cheers Irregardless, to you, for what you do.

I was a regular at Hernando's Hideway for many years, and before that at Choctaw Lounge on EP Blvd. After the Choctaw burned down Kenny bought Hernando's. Jerry Lee was a regular at both locations. I remember the night he got pissed off at Bad Bob's Lounge on Sandbrook. Pushed the piano off the stage and went to Hernando's and played all night long. The house band then was Louis Smith on guitar, Bobby Lee Roberts on guitar, Bill Strong on keyboards, and Frankie Bonds on drums. Those were the days.
