Queen is good n all. But I always preferred the deleted scenes from alien 1 in explaining how the eggs were made. Basically an xenomorph takes you, attaches you to the wall and slowly you get transformed into a face hugger egg - whilst still alive. Far more gruesome, horrific and a better approach than a queen imo.

It’s the same thing bro. Normal xeno creates eggs out of people/animals to create a hive big enough so they can make a queen egg/face hugger. Queen, once born, lays the eggs while the normal xenos shift their responsibilities to collecting hosts to expand their family. Xenos just create the conditions for a queen to be born then the queen takes charge of making eggs from then on. Unless she dies and the cycle repeats. It’s not that hard to understand.
