If it makes a car cheaper then for low spenders ie people who are not middle class such are potential opportunities provided there isn't too much needed to get said cars back on the road in a respectable condition. That all said bio cars are often a hard sell especially if there are needles or a lot of mold etc.

I was an auction driver for my friends small dealership. Travel time is one part of the job. In addition to driving, I wandered the pre-auction lines, looking for cars he would be interested in. We both busted our tails...all day long...watching auction lanes..and outside scoping out incoming cars...often in miserable upstate NY weather. We'd come back to the store exhausted. It is hard work people!

My 1983 GMC 2500 Diesel has sat outside its entire life. I live in snow country and in the summer, I go to the city of Redding, CA where it is 115 degrees at times. I washed the truck one time in 10 years. This last summer, I washed and polished the paint. It shines like my neighbor's 2023 Mercedes... The paint is perfect. AND my truck is a wood hauling truck!!! Yes, older paint is a lot better that the junk they have on cars these days. Of course, my old 1989 Ford F250, that I had in the mid 90s had half the paint peeling. I bought the truck used with 60,000 miles on it, went to the Ford dealership and they had Ford itself pay to have my truck repainted at an independent shop near my house for free (50 miles from the Ford dealership). Try to get that kind of loyalty today from any manufacturer.

Yeah the Mustang/Explorer lawsuit over hoods with peeling paint was brought up as a warning ahead of the 2015 F-150. Ford couldn't get paint to stick to aluminum back then and there was a lot of concern that a truck with a body totally made of aluminum would be a disaster. Seems hit or miss when it comes to the paint issue with the F-150 though.

As for the cars that are selling its low priced units and higher priced ( for my lot) trucks. Nissan is toxic in my area because of their CVT reputation, and Hyundai/ Kia are hard to insure. Hard hit value wise are minivans and older Tahoes, expeditions they aren't pulling anywhere near what they were during the pandemic.

Ref Car paint failures. (I'm a retired former 25 yr's plus autobody heavy collision repair's & 5 yr Boeing 747 / 767 Aircraft Painter) It seems certain automotive paints suppliers go through a phase of product failure due to a number of reasons. In the 1980's Ford's had paint problems (paint just peeling off.) Then the 1990's Chrysler had paint problems (paint just peeling off. claimed to be lack of adhesion.) Somewhere I remember Toyota's had clear coat paint problems. I don't think it can be pointed to just one problem as to paint, seems to be the result of bad paint chemical designs, in my humble opinion.

I love the center front seat/bench front seat, wish it wasn't only in older cars and limited amounts of trucks now. They are cozy for big people vs the center console.

You would never like a Volvo if you owned a 740. They lost me over that POS transmission which went out at 60,000 miles.

I'm keeping my 8 yr old paid off 328i. People are keeping older cars rather than going to war with car dealers over prices. Or paying for an overpriced newer car with high interest and car insurance in Florida. Thks for video.

Careful. All that lightweight plastic used in the cooling and induction systems will become brittle with heat and age. It’s not unusual to find a puddle of coolant under your car when something gives way. Replacing the broken component then becomes a series of cascade failures as every plastic part you touch breaks as you try to remove it to access the first broken part. Remember the rule of BMW - If you can’t afford to buy a new one, you can’t afford to repair an old one. 😜

15 minutes to clean the trash out, maybe $20 in labor, make it worth 100-300 more and get more people bidding. Maybe not a thing for $2000 cars but is for >$5000 cars. If a buyer sees how bad it was taken car of, they won't pay much, clean it up a little and there is value in it being clean and people thinking it was more taken care off than likely done.

It would be great to hear from other regions of the country or other parts of the world. Portion size and calories is just as much of a challenge to decipher reading as the fine print in a car dealers' sales contract.

Those who are willing to 'look stupid' are typically the ones with the most interesting lives. Those who care what others think, hide themselves and never experience a full life.... so 'look stupid' and don't care and have fun. @14:17

Some food products use smaller serving sizes in order to avoid getting banned. For example, they can't sell anything with transfat in moar places, but if the amount is below some number *per serving,* then they're allowed to say it's, "transfat free." It's all just a game to them.
