@@richardboggspcI believe u. I'd believe u regardless but I especially believe u bc u mention "client" so I can relate. Yrs ago when I was studying for my ER\Trauma 1 certs I was RN super at a very upscale private assisted living ursing home in the Philadelphia area. The grandmother of a 76ers player was one of my patients in the nursing home unit. (And no I'm not going to say who it was n violate privacy..but this will prob prompt ppl to say it's fake...its whatever..idgaf..think what u want) Anyways he would come in all the time to visit her n was so nice n polite to the staff. He would bring us huge food trays n stuff on holidays. One 4th of July he had famous Dave's bbq cater lunch for every shift n at Xmas time it was always the best hoagie n cheese steak trays etc. To us he was just a normal grandson visiting his gma after the initial novelty wore off. Celebrities do normal things too like bake pies for neighbors n visit relatives in nursing homes. I also took care of some other patients that were well known in the Philly area, not necessarily celebs or world famous but for example a couple that owned a very famous restaurant in the area for decades, the mother of an opera singer that is famous in Japan but has her doctorate n was\still is a well known music professor at a top university in Philly, things like that. Some ppl are just cynical n hateful..this is the 3rd video in a row where someone told a story n the comment section argued whether the story was fake or not. It's crazy.

I don’t know if it’s true, but I was told that Aretha lived in a neighborhood after this home that was in the Long Lake and Telegraph area. I think it was my step mother who pointed in the direction across the pond, they lived in the Andover neighborhood. The homes were modern but had the same vibe. Loaded with stonework, with main living area going straight up to the second floor. They had many fireplaces also. Watching this I started thinking she may have been wanting the feel without all of the repairs that an antique home would require. I could be wrong here, but that’s what people were talking about. Anyway what an exciting old home tour. What a great woman, and amazing artist!

Not a radio. That is an in home intercom that reached almost every room. It was from the late 1940's a servant staff used it to contact the home owners for meals, guest or deliveries. Very common in rich homes and well to do homes. The stone you refer to is limestone on several of those fireplaces. With lady finger bricks for the inside of it. The little faces are actually forms of gargoyles, but because they are faces, they are referred to as cherubs. They are meant to ward of evil spirits and harm that can be brought into a home because of numerous guests. All of the wood that is done throughout this home is Walnut.

@quniesmall9720 Yes, the Detroit golf club is right off of McNichols (Also known as 6 mile the further east you travel), though I don't know which part of the golf club she would've resided in. I'm a Detroit native and have performed at many of the mansions in the city as well as in the golf club. I also have family that once lived in the Indian village (though I don't live there myself). There's a tour you can take for other famous houses. My late father performed with her twice and a bassist I play with now was in her band. I didn't meet her, on account of me being so young when they were off touring and performing, but I'm glad that we have that piece of history verified. I did go to see Rosa Parks' body, and there are similar situations when it comes to her and her Detroit legacy. Hope this helps. If not, I can contact the bassist I play with. He even wrote a book about his time playing with Aretha.

In 2008, my wife and I were called by Aretha Franklin to redesign her landscaping, both front and back. We went to the house, measured both front and backsides, and photographed the house to facilitate us at the drawing table. The work would've been extensive, because it truly was overgrown and neglected. We spoke several times back and forth on the phone with Aretha.. When I told my wife Aretha Franklin was on the phone,, she said, "You better not be lying to me".While at Aretha's home, she had a fire engine red baby grand piano in the solarium, right in the center of the room. We left with all the measurements and photographs we needed, but realized later, and were told stories that were documented, that Aretha Franklin does not pay. So we made the executive decision not to go forward with the project. She doesn't pay the dressmakers, or the chauffeur drivers, and countless other business owners. Case in point, she never updated her landscaping, and it still looks like trash today, even from 2008 to current 2024. There's hubdreds of landscape companies in Michigan, and not one of them was hired for exterior work. We were right to walk away.

These old mansions in Michigan always amaze me! So many differences yet extremely similar. My family and I had a mansion in a small Flint neighborhood near the MSD and it reminds me so much of Aretha’s place. Ours was built maybe a decade or so prior to hers. The very first owner was the first Buick purchasing agent, the next few was a lawyer and doctor, a lady who was an architect and then us which we’re a basketball family. The architect lady was the one who tore down the second story of our house in the 50s and today, there’s an article of the house that remains with each owner that purchases the house. My father decided to leave it there along with original pictures from the 1920s, 40s-50s, and the railing from the staircase that was torn down plus an old tube television that was originally in the sunroom. So much history in these houses and absolutely great spirits if any form of human life remain in these homes after the owners move out! Hopefully, Aretha’s house can become a fantastic living situation for a future family in the near future. Our house today - from what I understand - houses some out of town students and doctors.

I am also aware of the housing crisis in America. I lost my house to a flood and needed to find another place to live. No problem right? A year later after staying with family I finally gave in and moved to a high crime area just to have a roof over my head. The first year I was able afford rent but the increased it and now we have to start looking again..... its unbelievable the housing situation and I see a huge problem with homelessness in the near future!

FMLA - Family Medical Leave of Act of 1993 “provides certain employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year. It also requires that their group health benefits be maintained during the leave. FMLA is designed to help employees balance their work and family responsibilities by allowing them to take reasonable unpaid leave for certain family and medical reasons. It also seeks to accommodate the legitimate interests of employers and promote equal employment opportunity for men and women. FMLA applies to all public agencies, all public and private elementary and secondary schools, and companies with 50 or more employees. These employers must provide an eligible employee with up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave each year for any of the following reasons: For the birth and care of the newborn child of an employee; For placement with the employee of a child for adoption or foster care; ✅ To care for an immediate family member (i.e., spouse, child, or parent) with a serious health condition; or To take medical leave when the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition. Employees are eligible for leave if they have worked for their employer at least 12 months, at least 1,250 hours over the past 12 months, and work at a location where the company employs 50 or more employees within 75 miles. Whether an employee has worked the minimum 1,250 hours of service is determined according to FLSA principles for determining compensable hours or work. Time taken off work due to pregnancy complications can be counted against the 12 weeks of family and medical leave.“ 🍀

What a beautiful home. I love all the fine details in the wood carvings, the shape of the doorways and who can resist the main stairway and all the wood work. I also love all the built in cabinets and drawers you find in homes from this era. Aretha definitely loved her shower/bathrooms that's for sure. I love the red tub and the electronic shower definitely looks interesting. It's not a sound system, it's called an intercom system. YES the tiny brightly colored tiles in some the bathrooms are definitely from the 1910-1930's or so. My great grandparents home was built in 1918 and it had them. Due to the restoration work that was done this house just needs a really good cleaning to remove all of the white dust on everything. This alone will really help with getting a buyer. Great tour, showing photos of earlier times was definitely helpful.

The song a rose is still a rose album was infact recorded in her mansion! Pretty cool!!! I had to look it up when you said that! That bathtub is awesome! That is really really cool knowing she used that tub! I’m sure that tub would go for hundreds of thousands of dollars to the right person! Did you know she passed in her riverfront apartment in Detroit August 16 2018. Her family still owns her mansion as it’s a center peice of her estate along with other buildings! According to recent news, Heather Dubrow from the Real Housewives of Orange County is currently remodeling a large mansion in Beverly Hills and plans to live there once the renovations are complete. Michigan native, is planning to live in Aretha Franklin's former home in Detroit, Michigan. Thomas and his partner are restoring the 1927-built home, known as "The Rose Estate", and plan to add modern touches and conveniences. The project is complex, and Thomas says it will likely be his last! Either way that’s awesome!
