I gotta say, I've been weightlifting for the past 13 years, and because of you and kneesovertoesguy, I'm slowly shifting into more of the athletic-type workouts. It's been fun to learn!

I've doing Persist for about 3 weeks now and my body feels GREAT! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the programming. My body always feels good from the workouts, I get fatigued and work my body, but I don't get that beat up feeling I used to get.

@@marcusfilly After about 13 years now of Crossfit, at 36 I too like you Marcus, was ready for something to keep my fitness up, but not beat me up. I spent years in military and law enforcement and my body was breaking down, but thank God I found your FBB program! I also switch to Xero and VivoBarefoot shoes and almost immediately saw an increase in ankle mobility!

Do you have a programme that we can follow to get on your level of training. Love the concept of your trainings. It’s a mixture of everything.

Absolutely. It is called PERSIST and you can head over to functional-bodybuilding.com/persist/ to learn more

Awesome to see more people riding mtb! Such great exercise and insanely fun. Do you treat your rides as a workout or just cardio? Curious to see how you organize it into your training.

I noticed that it looks like your warmup is quite similar to the ATG program. I really like your perspective and philosophy, as well as Ben’s. If I’m interested in both programs, but don’t want to spend a ton of time in the gym, do you have any advice on how to incorporate both?
@marcusfilly3 жыл бұрын
That is right. I use a lot of those movements and principles in my warm ups prior to weight training
@devonpeters94583 жыл бұрын
@@marcusfilly ok, great. I saw your video with Ben where you made a shortened workout for people like him doing his program. Will your program have shorter plans like that, able to accommodate folks doing that, or would you suggest only doing yours because it’s wholistic and only has plans for 60-90 minute workouts. I’d like to start incorporating more functional strength training/bodybuilding, etc, but want to continue doing the ATG program as I’m fairly new to it but seeing some promising results.

Hey Marcus I love your training style. As I’ve got older I want to protect my heart as much as stay in good shape. I notice unlike sone typical CrossFit met cons, you no longer do super high intensity stuff where your heart rate is jacked. I always thought to maximise heart health that was necessary occasionally?
@marcusfilly3 жыл бұрын
That’s not true in my experience. Great heart health and longevity don’t require maximum aerobic threshold/lactic acid training. If you wish to compete at the highest level of sport then that is another story.
@texaspete77483 жыл бұрын
@@marcusfilly Thanks so much for the response!! That’s great to hear. Training at that super high intensity comes with a price, especially as you get to my age of 44. If it’s not even required and I can get away without it then I’ll happily dial it down and stay consistent Thanks again. Fantastic content.
