Dear Sergei 🩷 Master of Your Craft Filming ~ Saint Issac's Cathedral ~ So many porticoed places filled with painting & or carving ~The Oculis or eye of the Dome is third highest in the World & is a price of beauty paid by 60 workers whom died by painting from the vapors of mercury to gild this Dome ~ Heavens Indeed ~ Out Do the French ~ Versailles was their goal ~ better than France ~ the mastery of perspective inside a dome much like being inside a Fabergée Egg ~ They borrowed from the Byzantines coinciding with the Ottoman Empire but of course becoming Christian Orthodox ~ Paint was made of semi-precious stones as Afghani Lapis Lazuli ground to a fine paste & mixed with resins, oil & later lye to create Ultramarine Blue ~ Blue is so revered in Russia ~ Jaw Dropping Saint Isscac's Cathedral ~ Indeed a Heavenly Wonder ~ Merçi Spaçiba 🩷Sergei👑

@@silvanakhouryDear Silvana 💗 I studied with a Japanese friend how to the make design of a Fabergé Egg. She taught us how to measure on the curve & use high speed dental tools to cut out the negative spaces. Loved doing that. I made a carriage out of an Ostrich Egg with opening windows & upholstered tufted seats inside. Reins were attached with glass ponies ~ Jewels on top. Hope Sergei will take us back to the Hermitage Museum ~ Unbelievable craft(men)ship ~ ~ they also have a café at the Hermitage Museum ~ 🙏 Sergei can take us there ~ Saint Petersburg is such an unreal place to me ~ Fantasyland ~ If I were in my early 20's I would have loved to get an apartment in Saint Petersburg for a few months ~ I have family so must not get too wild ~ Thank You for Your Mention Princess Silvana 👸 ☮️🙏

I do not like seeing women in the Church without head covering. There shouldn't be tour guides or displays inside the Church either. Do the talks outside and have the models in a separate building for that purpose. Let tourists come in by all means, but they should treat God's house with proper respect. Georgia and Armenia handle this much better with headscarves available at entrance for tourists who don't have one with them. Hopefully as the ROC continues to be strengthened and restored in the coming years these issues will be addressed.
@baklykovlive
@baklykovlive Жыл бұрын
It is now more a museum than the church. You did a bad homework before leaving this comment. Kazan Cathedral is 100% church and they ask women to cover their heads
@scottwillie6389
@scottwillie6389 Жыл бұрын
@@baklykovlive That is blasphemy. Even it it is just 1% a church, it is still a church. Headscarves and a large sign should be placed at entrance. If authorities want it to be a museum then they should move the icons someplace else. Current arrangement is vulgar and good for no one. It displeases God and tourists alike. They are not there to see a "museum". They are there to see one of the most beautiful Cathedrals in the world!
