It was definitely relatable, and my anxiety was triggered during her panic attack. I loved the grounding techniques that Riley used involving the five senses like 5 things you see, 4 things you hear, taking a deep breath for your mouth and nose, names things you can touch.

This movie broke me as I suffer from panic attacks. Had my first about 15 years ago and my mind never recovered from that. This movie affected me more the the first because in the first I remembered my childhood, but here I see myself as I am now. Stil broken, stil suffering. BTW, love your reaction, made me laugh a lot and Zuff, I love your singing voice ☺

Ya know I never understood why they made Joy’s hair blue instead of like everyone else who’s hair matched their body color and it makes sense, she has a bit of sadness in her, you can see she’s yellow like 90% but her blue hair stands out like a sore thumb but it makes sense how most of her sadness is concealed by her joy. When I first saw this movie, I thought it was such a good interpretation of what anxiety feels like, especially the panic attack. The swirling, the phasing so that she can't be touched, the tears, the jagged-ness of the emotion. I got quite emotional in the theater because it hit so close to home. Whenever they show panic attacks on TV, I simultaneously appreciate the representation but also hate it because watching panic attacks maxes out my own anxiety.

I think a lot of reactors do a good job but also forget that everything is happening inside Riley's head. so when you guys mentioned how overwhelming would it be to have all those bad emotions coming in while she was having a panic attack, you didn't realize that those emotions were coming in no matter what, because Riley thought that she was not good enough, anxiety caused all those emotions to come in like an avalanche, it wasn't actually joy using dynamites that caused it, it was anxiety taking over... which caused Riley's panic attack to get worse. And only after, she was able to calm herself down.😊 Also, yes, before that, Riley would let the her emotions control her, her choosing joy at the end showed she is learning how to control her emotions.

As for Riley not saying anything to Grace after bracing for impact, it was because she COULDN'T. She immediately got sent to the penalty box without having a say in trying to help Grace feel better.
