UPDATE: One year later, I have finally realized something shocking. THE FILM IS LEGIT CALLED INSIDE OUT. INSIDES. COMING. OUT. This is also completely and wholly consistent with the premise of the movie, which is people becoming mentally inverted, which would leave the obvious duality of a physical inversion as well.

Actually, I can think of a potential reason for the third-person memory structure: what if Rylie, (and/or any other character with one of these sorts of memories), heard a story about someone else or even about a time in their own life that they wouldn't remember. Then, the "mind" - i.e. the emotions, have to process the information to "create" a memory that's not just the character talking with someone else, but like they actually 'remember' the event happening instead. Thus, the third-person memory would be either an imagined memory and/or 'false memory'.

Light-hearted theory: he is a character in a show, they've both seen and when teacher "goes there" she's planning to binge watch the show all summer. Dark (more fun) theory: the 2nd flight is where he harvests organs. He builds trust on the first and gets stabby on the second. I think you'll enjoy the 2nd theory more. 😉

I've never watched the movie with the original dub But hearing him say "mi gatiña" physically hurt me Every time i see an american mistaking one of the easiest things you could know of a country, i'm just going to start speaking in german with them

Lol just having the memory doesn't mean she regrets it, she has a family which is also cool. Just mad in the moment at least.
