I have never watched an actor who truly becomes his character as much as Sam. His insight into Jamie, the way he interprets Jamie’s emotions and reactions, his empathy and understanding of Jamie are just so engrossing! He definitely gives Jamie life and carries us all with him through Jamie’s joys and heartbreaks.

They, Heughan/Fraser, were made for each other. Without the purpose of one being made for the other. Heughan wears/inhabits the character (IMHO) like a second skin. I've watched quite a few movies. NO actor/character has symbiosis like this one. Robert Downey, Jr./Tony Stark are close.

I am rewatching all the series, up to series 6. It’s amazing how much more you see and feel. The portrayal of emotion within emotion intertwined with life’s experience is truly incredible. Listening to Caitriona saying that Sam has the smallest ego, I can see he has, he comes across as such a genuine and down to earth guy here too, very much in touch with his feminine side . I hope you find someone special in your life Sam, she’ll be one lucky lady! . In my opinion the acting in this production deserves many awards. They all take you into their world and this is escapism at its best. Thank you for producing something so magical. I don’t want it to end…..ever!❤

I have seen it more than twice. This episode was absolutely stunning and beautiful from beginning to end. So fast paced and jam packed. It's enough to make me cry throughout. It was heartbreaking, warm, emotional, and gripping too. It was great to see Jaime's love for his kids and his vulnerability in it. He has mellowed. As an adoptee myself, the part of William, Brianna, Jaime, and John were a gut punch. I know that feeling. I too, have had a long journey of discovery and then losses en masse to my family. Saying hello and good bye aren't always easy or fun, but they scar you in ways you can't always fathom or there's always a shadow of love and loss of it. The firefly scene with Disneyland was priceless. Every girl ever wants to be loved by her Dad and have a good relationship like Bree does. I also worked for WDW and ended up dying over the Giant Rat comment. Any cast members will understand that. I cried and lol so hard at all parts of this scene. If Sam and Caitríona's work doesn't go through to an award, the world is off its axis! I cried so hard when they did! Bravo to the whole cast!

Speaking of unrequited love in answer to the first question Sam says "for me" and immediately self-corrects to "for Jamie." It feels very much like a Freudian slip knowing that Sam's father abandoned the family when Sam was a toddler. Yet, later in life Sam learns that his father has been following him and his career from afar. Very poignant parallels.

Unfortunately I am not able to watch season seven yet, but I enjoy watching all the commentary. I especially enjoyed Sam going into this, as others have said, in his authentic and natural manner. I still disagree with him however, that Jamie and Claire are codependent. To me, to be codependent with someone, means that the one person is trying to change the other person and sacrifices themselves trying. For Jamie and Claire, it is simpler, only that life is not worth living without this love and connection. I can very well understand that, since so many people go through life, not really connecting to others and living a very deprived and miserable life. I suppose when one finds love and connection and compares this with a life without love, the stakes are indeed very high.
@rahbeeuh Жыл бұрын
I deleted my last comment. I hadn't gotten that far in the video to fully understand your comment but idk if I'd say Jamie and Claire are codependent either. On that we agree. I think the word Sam may have meant to use is co-independent. Jamie and Claire live their lives separately the best they can for 20 years. Sure, they were barely functional at times but such as life, they made the most of it to their capacity anyway.
@thekrayonkidsbookadventures Жыл бұрын
I agree with you ...I think Caitriona brought it up first- regarding codependency ( kidding about it ) in an interview about two months ago ..and Sam now uses it as well ...I don't think they are codependent . They embrace each other's differences ...they are together for love and don't change their way of thinking or personality to please the other person and sacrifice their own happiness so that they can make the other person happy ...they both bring love ,caring and respect to their relationship ...they are both empathetic to each others needs . In Codependency ..one is usually a taker and one is a giver and it isn't healthy . Claire and Jaime are both givers and are aware when the other needs some receiving. Just in my opinion. They "depend on each other" and are part of each other but they are not co-dependent .
