THAT WAS A VERZUZ I didn't know I needed. I had lost my mother 12/20/2019, we were in lock down, I was missing my mom and this Verzuz reminded me of my mother and her girlfriends talking in our living room. I am from Philly, I've seen Miss Patti in and around town serveral times. I would give her a special smile and knod and she would always smile right back. She is so classy and personable. To see her in concert is an experience I will never forget. Thank you Jemele.

I met Patti in 2017, we were on the same flight. You are absolutely right, she was so nice, very down to earth and took a pic with me with no second thought. I’m also from Philly and we chatted about this mural of her painted on a wall in a Philly neighborhood. Also when the plane landed, she stayed behind and took pics with the Flight Crew.!! No, she’s not a Diva!! Thanks for sharing👍🏽👍🏽!!

People focus on the singing, but I wonder if Fantasia could capture and replicate Patti's essence, mannerisms, and personality? It's not an easy task. Fantasia can handle the vocals, but does she have the acting chops?

The Year was 1999 through 2000 News Year in Las Vegas, I was a thirty something Years old Las Vegas performer. I was hired as a private performer dancer to be an companion of elderly lady the event, which that event, was placed at the Cesar Palace Hotel in Vegas, they build two Pavilions, one Pavillion had a concert with Mrs. Vanessa Willians, the other was Mrs. Patti LaBelle. I was in Mrs. Labelle Pavillion concert show hall, Mrs. Labelle way back when, us to call guys to interact with her at the stage, I was one those guys she chose. When I got the stage, she gave me her microphone, I sang something, a little scat, she immediately grabbed the microphone of my hand and said to me. OH! YOU REALLY CAN SING! I'll never forget that!! I really admire and love Mrs. Labelle.🥰

Patti LaBelle is such a beautiful and sweet soul. It must have been jealousy and envy that started those rumors on her. Because back in the day a lot of people was very jealous of Patti LaBelle and a lot of men wanted her. And some even tried to destroy her because they couldn’t have her for themselves.But as beautiful as Patti is on screen when you see her in person she is so gorgeous and alluring in person.

I found a pic online, of Patti LaBelle, Stephanie Mills (a best buddy of Patti's), Dionne Warwick, Aretha and Andrew Young...they were all backstage after a concert Aretha gave at Carnegie Hall. Im pretty sure the picture was from 1980 or '81. Its my desktop wallpaper, now. Andrew Young was running for Congress, so for him to make this kind of public appearance, was not beyond the pale...and after all, he knew Aretha from those days when she supported the movement with concerts that were fundraisers for Dr King. Aretha did an interview with Canadian press many yrs ago, where she talked about how long she knew Patti..and it dated back to the early 60s.

If there will be a biopic about Patti Labelle and her MUSIC CAREER, the female actress should also be a Gemini astrology sign. The same signs tend to resemble one another, have the same voice, same height, etc.
@cherylgordor71199 ай бұрын
I sold my heart to the junk man. That’s when she was started to be famous, but she was in the group, but she was the lead singer.
@mscapricorn-ce1pl16 күн бұрын
If a singer/musician is not seen performing on TV Talk shows, late night talk shows, or a concert, touring, etc. The singer/musician will probably be busy singing/performing at church choirs(all denominations!), at grade schools, JHS, HS, community colleges, four-year colleges. At CUNY -The City University Of New York Colleges, for example, every college/campus has chorus singing/performing and anyone can volunteer to sing or help conduct the performances.
It’s never been positive as an ordinary woman to be perceived as a diva. It’s often said with a certain sarcasm. Not surprised to hear Ms LaBelle refuse the title. She s extraordinary and doesn’t need the flattery. It just shows up the envy in people. It’s as though a woman who cares is somehow separate from others, too grand or something. It can be a back handed compliment. Watch out for the fake flattery!

I loved the interview. Truly. The only thing that was out of order was calling Patti by her first name. It is very disrespectful unless an elder invites to do so to call them / address them by their first name. It would have been so much more respectful to address her as Miss Patti or Auntie Patti. Now, if she did gave permission to address her by her first name, then of course, that is fine. This generation needs to learn proper respect in addressing elders. Your elders are not your peers. I'll be 60 in 2 years Lord willing and I still don't address people older than me by their first names. Not unless they themselves invite me to do that.
