Not just that, his executive assistant would have prepeared everything in those meetings and also all materials. The CEO just has to show up xD. I admit, I admire him for mentioning his assistant though, CEOs typically never do.

Worked under Steve Ells as CEO at chipotle as a young guy, and i must say its was a great learning experience. Agree i dont think customers really get to take in just the level of detail he put in the business and its culture when he was building it. Because hes a culinary chef by training, he put a lot of the spirit of that into the culture. They have a strong value of doing the right thing and the concept of integrity.

This past weekend I had a hard time getting them to put more than a drip (yes, a drip) of salsa on my burrito. I was like..."can you pour the ladle on?" and the guy just did another drip and looked at me like 'is that enough?'. If you get a bowl you get WAY more food than if you order the burrito.

@@cardion411 because he made FIVE consecutive positive statements for $CMG. all positive, and i said "sounds like...". i know what i said. if you ever listen to or read earnings reports that companies release, his comment reads like a forward-looking statement. for all you know he's a manager or investor who's trying to boost the positive outlook across media for his company. otherwise, i don't see how he has any way to benefit from his comments. i never talk that positively about some random company on the internet unless i actually OWN the company or have some sort of inside interest in the company itself (not that his way of talking about it would actually have benefited $CMG in an way).

I stopped going to Chipotle few years ago when they couldn't get the brown rice right. When talking to a couple of Chipotle managers, they always said "brown rice is crunchy". I should have told them to ask the Pei Wei cooks how to do it since they always cook it perfectly.

I made my first 4 investments about 4 yrs ago and Chipotle and Starbucks were my immediate first two choices… PLS bro Save my beloved Starbucks (after 3 price hikes in 2 yrs from my beloved $3.65 Trenta black iced tea daily to now $4.95 NO more of that madness for water w a tea bag)!!

Even CEO's have no loyalty to their companies. So many jump ship when the opportunity arises. I don't understand why a CEO like him who enjoys their job and does a great job, moves on, often with no notice. And they leave with a wonderful severance package and signing bonus at the next company. It doesn't show a good example for the junior employees.
