To buy or sell the rarest cars on the planet, head to our auction platform SBX Cars: sbxcars.com
Today, we’re exploring Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany-a jaw-dropping miniature world that covers 1.5 sq km (about the size of Hyde Park in London!) with 12 detailed regions from around the globe.
There’s a 16-km-long model railway, which, if combined, could scale two Mount Everests or circle the globe 26 times!
We’ll wander through this massive tiny universe, discover the magic behind its operation, and meet the masterminds who created a unique Miniatur Wunderland addition just for Supercar Blondie.
So, what's your favorite part of the Wunderland? Let us know in the comments!

This place is simply amazing! My wife and I went there in early 2023. We spent 6 hours there and didn't even get to look at all the detail of all the areas. The Hamburg area includes a miniature of Miniature Wunderland. You can look inside the model building, and you see a twice shrunk miniature version of Miniature Wunderland. It is possible to buy a behind-the-scenes tour, too.

Went to Miniature Wunderland last year. Never expected it to be so impressive, your brain can't take it all in. A little tip: it's a really, really popular attraction, so it's best to buy your tickets way ahead. We purchased tickets 3 days ahead, and were lucky to snatch the last ones for that weekend.

My favourite? The minute details that surprise you. Batman on a roof top. An exhibitionist in a window. Romeo and Juliet performance. A protest march. The fire engine rushing to a fire. Lovers hidden in a field. A crime scene by a stream with a person floating in the water. A car crash. And not least a few visitors rushing through barely looking at the scenery (obviously just wanting to brag about having been there).

the clouds should be scarce with a backlit (LED based) light blue sky, much better than dark grey curtains! i can definitely suggest upgrades to these sets to make them much better. they can also alternate the sky with an entirely black shroud with small LED bulbs to indicate stars at night and a fine mist that is moving to indicate clouds.
@CherryGS
@CherryGS 2 ай бұрын
@@defauIt2 There's always things to improve. The curtains might have been the best (=easy to implement, durable) solution they could come up with at that time like 15 years ago when the airport was built. They've learned a lot since then, and might find an even better solution today. There's other parts where you can see the age, like the cars on the airport carpark being several generations behind what it would look like today, or the america section, which is one of the first that was build and in some parts looks really crude compared to the new stuff they build. They are constantly not only building new sections, but also modernizing parts of the older ones, but the day has only so much hours. And another very important consideration: everything has to be very sturdy. No manufacturer builds model trains intended to be run 12+ hours every day for months and years...

I've been there and it's really fascinating! The details, the labor behind all of it and the execution, every little nook is incredible. I also didn't know about the cars charging on their own, and I wondered what happens to the planes once they're past the curtain! I would dare say that with this much artistry and with so many different skillsets needed to make this vision a reality, Miniaturwelt is one of the finest art exhibitions in the world!

Yeah I would have liked to see and hear more about all of it actually works. Underneath what everyone sees was just incredible. A level of building that most people don't even know exists and not just with miniatures. People have no idea the amount of wiring, pipes, and everything else it takes to make things work. I was an electrician for a while and did some industrial sites and the work when done is just a thing of beauty and what I saw in this video reminded me of that but on a whole other level. While I only dealt with electrical work these guys are dealing with the entire gambit of infrastructure it looks like.
