I have only just discovered your channel and binged this series this afternoon. I was instantly hooked by the combination of history, motorcycles, and travel - three of my favourite things ! Your display of historical knowledge has been excellent throughout and I was wondering to what level you had studied. I was very surprised at the end when you explained that you were ‘merely’ an enthusiast ! A very well put together series: camerawork, sound, music, editing, the works. Please keep up the good work 👍🏻

Thanks for saying hi! And thanks for these kind words ☺️ I've an undergrad in history and international relations but didn't continue with academia, at least for now - wanted to go and actually see the stuff and not just study it 😎🏍️💨 really glad you enjoyed the series! Hopefully more to come!

This was a fantastic video. I'm always held in rapt awe of the quality of your presentations. When I see that you've posted a video in my notifications, that video is always my first choice for viewing. What brings a culture crashing down and its civilization along with it? Pluralism has been the biggest culprit throughout history. There must be one overarching culture that the vast majority of citizens of a nation buy into regardless of the culture of the ethnicity that they brought with them when they migrated to a new nation. They can keep their cultural heritage alive in enclaves but there must be that overarching or dominant culture. This is critical. Under the culture umbrella we have a shared set of values that are a part of the dominant culture which leads to a belief in and support of same if not, very similar principles. There has to be a single identity that these concepts bring about. I'm not a Western European-American or a German-American. I'm an American, first. The political system must also be supported by the population. Corruption or incompetence (or both) cannot be tolerated. Employing these concepts properly keeps a nation strong within. If they are not upheld, that nation will crumble, become weak and either self-destruct or it will become easy pickings for its enemies.

Hey Ferdia. The intricacy of the stones in tomb walls are impressive as was the beautiful drive along the bay. But highlight for me was your reflective history discussion. In the US many of us see destructive forces. More troubling is the large population that does not see the path as negative. If we do not learn from history, we will repeat the mistakes. World order as you mentioned is very much at play depending on how the US people vote. Thank you for bringing ancient history alive by showing its present day relevance. Joy

You are a scholar. Among so many other things. I like the way you allude to your previous stories to reinforce time lines and phenomena. Another excellent video with the Ferdia stamp on it. Thank you.

Bravo again Ferdia, great episode. I really love your passion for it. This is who you are, my friend :) Your whisperings of magical words at the beginning gave me goosebumps and I thought what else you can expect from a lad from Ireland who grew up playing, hiding between ancient celtic sacred spaces still connected to the fairy folks, the otherworld and ancient wisdom and magic... congratulations, I really enjoyed watching this. Keep going ;)

Really enjoyed this episode Ferdia, the scenery was stunning, the shots of the BMW riding through the landscape added so much, and you told the story in a very captivating way. 👏 Nice parallel there between modern people saying the Pyramids were made by aliens, and the Mycenaeans architecture being built by Cyclops, I never made that connection before that people have always been conspiracy theorists like that 😂 Very haunting that the last words recorded by these people were about their imminent demise. Can't wait for the next episode!

A gentleman and a scholar you surely are! 😜 And yea re. the ancient aliens, but I cut the discussion part about the religious and racist undertones of that whole idea/community... Didn't quite fit the video 🤣 Archaic conspiracy theories seem harmless enough though 😝 we keep wandering my friend ❤️🏍️💨
