The winner painted a horrific commission portrait. It looked nothing like her subject. It was, at best, a mediocre student work. That episode was uploaded last week. When it was revealed, people stiffled their gasps and politely, but disingenuously, congratulated her. I'm sure the National Portrait Gallery will find an appropriate place to put it, well hidden.

I believe the problem is that the same judges have been at it for far too long.

These judges must go. They have set a discriminatory pattern for who they select as winners. If you paint realistically or if you're above age 45 they will not select you for the top prize.

"norah is new, is nothing that we have seen before" says the art curator; well maybe you didn't hear about Toulouse Lautrec or basically hundreds of painters from the 80s. is definitely not norah's fault but the judges are a joke.
