Homes do not hold value. Only land holds value. The home itself is a depreciating asset. An amazing megamansion on worthless land will NEVER resell for profit. Homes in LA are so expensive because their land has value and it's a market that has consistently grown. Therefore it's a good investment and increases demand and price. The first home in this video is still on the market and asking price has already dropped nearly $2 mil (now at $21.9 mil). Rich people stay rich by investing wisely. You don't want to buy a $25 million house you can't resell for a profit. It'd be better to buy a less-impressive home for the same price which will gain value over time.

I can't imagine what these homes would be priced at if they were in Bel Air rather than Delray. Magnificent homes, I couldn't afford the electric bill let alone mortgage, taxes, insurance, grounds care, housing staff, pool maintenance. I doing all I can to keep my head above water on my 27 acres and my 2000 sq ft home. But it's nice to visit...thanks for the eye candy.

I've been in a house with 12 bedrooms with only 5 people in the house using every room in their house.
