After the release of LA Noire in 2011, its developer Team Bondi crumbled while in the midst of developing a sequel, unfortunately, named "The Whore of the Orient." This is its story.

I never finished the game when it came out, but I bought it again. My wife and I played it during 2020 when everything was locked down. She doesn't play games at all, but she absolutely loved this game. We went through the whole thing together. We both love true crime and real life games like Hunt A Killer (it's really great if you haven't tried it). LA Noire tops the list.

They could 100% revive this as a series. The beauty of it is you could have a game, a story, and a setting in multiple cities around this era and it would just work. • L.A. Noire • N.Y. Noire • Chicago Noire • etc. Kind of like how GTA follows a separate story with different characters in a different city but keeps the same formula in each game.

Yeah. Like the original la noire, these games will have you play as at least two different protagonists.. these games may also draw elements from cop shows(or any similar show based on law enforcement) depending on which city the game takes place.. Ny noire-draws elements from NYPD blue, law and order and blue bloods Texas noire-based on walker Texas ranger where you play as a Texas ranger plus a cop depending on which city or cities of Texas the game takes place. Miami noire-based on Miami vice and csi Miami Detroit noire-takes place mainly in Detroit but may also include other parts of Michigan La noire 2-takes place at least 50 years after the original. One of the missions or arcs is based on the murder of Rodney king. May also be based on the original 911(and can be one of few noire games to feature a female playable protagonist and is based on the character of Athena) Chicago noire-takes place in Chicago. Can be based on any cop show that takes place in Chicago, ie Chicago pd

Surely not. The gameplay was terrible, and so was the 'search for an item with a cursor till you find it' 'detective work'. I can see how you like the story/style - but even that ended by showing you didn't even have the right man! The city was dead and the GTA-style shooting/driving was clunkier than an early Saints Row, somehow.

The first time I played L.A Noire I was blown away by it's graphics, storyline and the motion scan technology system used to create the character's real life faces. The gameplay was good and entertaining in some areas but not so great in others, repetitiveness issues slightly hurt L.A Noire as well, although I think many players overlooked this at the time because they thought and felt there was something unique and special about the game as a whole. L.A Noire was more like playing a movie game which appealed to many people, the storyline was captivating and you really connected with all the characters and their backgrounds. Driving around the streets of L.A with your partner gave the impression the open world environment was huge, almost never ending, it looked and felt so real and it's a shame you couldn't interact more with the City and people, like go into a restaurant/cafe to have a meal and drink, nip into a bar for a refreshing beer, visit a casino and play on the slot machines, take a trip on a bus get to a certain location, these sorts of things. By all means L.A Noire is not a masterclass, it had it's flaws like any other game, but everyone at Team Bondi did a fantastic job under very poor working conditions to create a rare gem. Rockstar knew once L.A Noire was released that making a sequel was gonna be just a big a challenge, there is always a possibility that we will see an L.A Noire 2 in the future, although I'm not very confident of this actually happening. If there is to ever be an L.A Noire 2 then it must look, feel and play like the original, but be so much better in every single way, Rockstar knows this and they don't want the ruin the name "L.A Noire" by releasing a rushed sub standard sequel which players will look upon it as an inferior follow up to the original. The 1970s or 1980s would make for 2 good decades to base L.A Noire 2 around, even if it took 3-5 years to make the sequel fans of the franchise would be patient and give Rockstar all the time they needed, the anticipation and excitement of eventually playing a follow up would be electric. I'm enjoying L.A Noire just as much now as I did back in 2011, some cases are great to relive as it brings back fond gaming memories and reminds me to appreciate just what Team Bondi had done and achieved. If you imagine, L A Noire looked great back in it's day, gaming technology has advanced immensely over the last 10 years, so if we are ever treated to a sequel then no doubt it will be mind blowing, and have awesome realism and gameplay to boot.

Well said 80s - 90s was covered by GTA but it still can be done
@libertyfighter76
@libertyfighter76 Жыл бұрын
@@solasoul33 Thanks for your comment, even though the 80s and 90s was covered by GTA like you said, LA Noire is a seperate game altogether and Rockstar wouldn't have any problems deciding to set LA Noire 2 in either of those 2 decades, or even the 70s. Rockstar could even create a follow on sequel to LA Noire by reusing most or all the characters from the original that didn't die at the end, and build upon their storylines more; this could be done but I feel Rockstar would prefer to set LA Noire 2 in a completely different decade, fresh storyline and with all new characters. I'm replaying certain cases in LA Noire now on the Xbox 360 and still enjoying the game, there are still moments to be had out of LA Noire that make me smile or even laugh. I enjoy getting into certain vehicles and my partner makes amusing and sarcastic comments like: "If the captain sees us driving around in this we're dead," and "Show more respect for other people's propery Phelps," lol Rockstar has always been good at throwing in character humour, jokes and tongue in cheek lines into their games, has almost become a trademark symbol with them.

Come on, all the 'detective work' was terrible, and just point and click, but without any puzzles. Very repetitive. The driving and shooting were worse than any GTA, as bad as Saints Row 1. The facial capture stuff was ultimately pointless and ineffective. The cities were completely dead too. It was a poor man's Mafia/2. A sequel should have actual detective puzzles and gameplay like GTAIV, at least. Overrated, but not as overrated as Max Payne 3, TBF.

All others show too much potential to advance Australia's noteriety for something other than landmark tourist attractions, medical achievements and overall expertise, wildlife, etc... ya know, ll the things the Government can make some long lasting mony from with a 100% chance at a profit.

The recent Tarantino movie got me thinking that a 60s-set sequel to LA Noire would be great, with stories based around the Manson Family etc, and with aged versions of the surviving younger characters

And perhaps the public never gets notified of his death in the first place and how he was falsely accused and broke the SRF/Arsonist cases open and is returned to top duty or survives low key and then becomes a pi and supplies information to the pd and to Jack about cases and secretly closes them.

I remember when I was twelve years old and I played this gem. I thought it was cool that for once in a “Rockstar” game (I put quotations because it’s not really a rockstar game) you get to play as an actual legit good guy and fight against crime. I was also genuinely surprised by the writing and how every character seemed real and not black and white. I wish there was a sequel, but maybe it’s best that this remains the only game so that others hopefully see this game and play it for themselves. I think it’s timeless, and it’s quite the experience. I felt so engaged with the protagonist that the ending hit like a truck when it was all said and done.

I always thought LA Noire would have been great if you had played as a Private Detective instead of a cop. Would have allowed more freedom and interesting situations in my opinion. Still enjoyed the game as it was, but hoped for a sequel as a PI.

Great video. I love LA Noire. It's a flawed masterpiece, certainly has it's problems but there isn't another video game like it at all, not even one that comes close. It's just great.

Imagine this game in 2025... Although I feel like gaming companies, and companies in general, just aren't willing to take any risks anymore. Rockstar ain't going to release a sequel when they're making money hand over fist with GTA online and, of course, the upcoming GTA 6. Manhunt, Bully, LA Noire, The Warriors, TABLE TENNIS... those were the days. Now it's all about making the most money possible with the smallest risk.

I always loved the idea of LA Noire’s successor being based in Detroit and set in the late 60s. Whereas LA Noire highlighted a city just beginning to blossom, Detroit Noire would feature a mature city that at the beginning of the worst decline of any major American city. 60s Detroit saw an explosion in crime, racial strife, and the downturn of its benchmark industries. I think there are lots of interesting stories to tell which would make for a pretty amazing sandbox game which allows for a solid main story and unlimited side quests.

Hey Rockstar is reportedly working on Bully 2 (a sequel to a game from 2006) so perhaps some new spin on LA Noire is in the cards! They released a PS4 remaster a few years back and it remains a pretty acclaimed game online so I don’t think they’ve completely forgotten about it

I had an idea that I thought would be cool while rewatching eyes wide shut. I thought it would be cool in the sequel or just a different detective style game altogether to only have one (long) case in which you investigate a strange cult similar to the one in EWS. It would maybe start with following bread crumbs and unlike LA NOIRE have more emphasis on you doing the detective work. Since it would only be one case maybe have multiple branching stories within and posibilities/outcomes. Having very little handholding and maybe even a small emphasis on trial/error but without being able to go back unless starting everything from scratch more or less in hte vain of heavy rain but a lot more interactive. You would be able to even infiltrate them, have a more engaging bad/cop good/cop system, a smaller but more hub like dense city with lots of interesting npc's that may or may not be involved in this circle you investigate, twists and turns and maybe even a partner system where you could co op. Just some ideas.

I’d love a La Noire sequel that’s based around the movie The Nice Guys, I think the movie takes place in the 70s, but in reality I just want another La Noire game, I mean it’s not like it can’t happen, Rockstar owns the property after Team Bondi went under I’d hope if the game ever gets a sequel it will have more stuff to do on days off, like activities to do by yourself or with your partner, definitely needs better customization, no more shitty preset suits I wanna be able to customize my outfit to my liking, also being a dirty cop would be a cool feature as well
