This game isn't great nor is underrated. It was blown out of proportion and overhyped by paid reviews while players were frustrated with a halfbaked final product and unrealistic characters that were advertised as realistic. How things are going in the gaming industry this game will become good since most things released isn't worth for me to even release my fart on it let alone to be bothered to play it even if someone pays me good money to play it. You have to be heavily lobotomized and a masochist to find entertainment values in such ''products'' that are nothing but slapped together tech demos with makeup on.

Boring and clunky gameplay, classic Rockstar on rails mission design that gets old very fast, bad acting despite the impressive facial technology and the only interesting cases were all the homicides. Even if your job wouldn't be on the line, being the only guy going home at 8 makes you feel a lot of guilt and shame. It's hard to really tell exactly how bad it was on RDR2 because there haven't been too many clear stories about overwork. It's been Rockstar's business model for a long time. From what I understand, back in the day, it was rare for companies to work multiple major projects at the same time, or work on one immediately after a previous one was completed. Rockstar took the world by storm releasing the original GTA trilogy, Max Payne 2, the Manhunt games, Smuggler's Run, Red Dead Revolver, and Midnight Club all within a span of 2000-06... it was unprecedented. I think it lead to a lot of companies copying the same model and leading to rushed releases, patch on release day, and so on.

This is the game I could replay over and over again and not give a shit about any other game. It’s so forgotten amongst other games of the time. Granted it was a really specific game but god damn was it amazing

"You took this book out in 1971." 'Yes, and I returned it in 1971. I--I returned that book. I remember it very specifically.' [DOUBT] "Well, let me tell you something, funny boy. I've seen your type before. Flashy, making the scene, flaunting convention. You and your good-time buddies. Well I got a flash for ya, joy-boy: party time is over. Y'got seven days."

darktennisball GTA V ruined GTA for me with its weak short story and obsession with online. GTA VCS is my unpopular opinion for face. I want bully 2 but I want nostalgia not hi tech

There was something so special about Rockstar between GTA 4 and GTA 5, they were putting out banger games almost every year each with its own unique feel to it. Makes me sad knowing that all we’ll realistically get from Rockstar from now on is just GTA and RDR and that’s solely due to the fact that they can monetize the multiplayer. Also it’s just such a shame what happened to the studio, this was clearly the result of how normalized crunch is in the industry, I think the developers would’ve made for a great rockstar team had they not been treated the way they were.

L.A. Noire definitely needs some kind of sequel. Personally, I'd love to see something similar based in New York.

An L.A. Noire 2 set during the 1970’s, when FBI profiling and hunts for serial killers were becoming common, would be AMAZING if they pulled it off well

@@aswadsheikh8051 That's not really a remaster. They just improved the framerate, lighting, and some textures a bit. It's like they switched from a "medium" graphics setting to "high". An actual remaster is like the cod 4 remaster.

Crunch isnt unique to the games industry, its something that plagues most software development. This "crunch" and subsequent unethical working conditions is what forced me to leave software engineering for good about 5 years ago. Best career decision I ever made...

@@TheBadElf Super Mario All-Stars is pretty much the FIRST remaster.
@mrblonde6094 жыл бұрын
@@TheBadElf Yeah, but these expansion packs weren't part of the actual game. Remember how DLCs started? Yeah. Stuff that was already on the disc and in the game files got held back for you to pay. Back in the 90s and early 2000s they only made Addons if they felt the need to tell something different and unique, not because they felt obliged too. DLCs are a must these days and developers have to figure out a way of how to extract things from the main game to sell it afterwards, instead of following their passion and original intent. You can't compare expansion packs from the 90s with todays greedy and sometimes lazy practices. And the op never mentioned remasters. He talked about complete games. But the irony in this is, that L.A. Noire itself had DLC chapters.
@mrblonde6094 жыл бұрын
@@applescruff1969 It really isn't. There were many games before that were remastered. Like Kings Quest, Mario Bros. (1988), Snatcher, Space Quest, hell, even Tetris got dozens of remakes since 1984.
@-GeordieDan-4 жыл бұрын
Really enjoyed L.A. Noire, I appreciated they tried to do something different with depth analysis/motion scan. Plus, loved the era/setting of the game. My main gripe was once you finished the story, there was nothing left to do. If they ever made a sequel, would be fun to have police side quests/encounters. Even just stopping random crime as a cop like a robbery etc.
@lewyy104 жыл бұрын
I just finished it for the first time a couple weeks ago. Great game.
