I watch enough Welcome to Chickenlandia to know you have done everything right. The only issue I see is when they get older and you make higher roosts they are going to peck your foam board! But if you don't make them higher it won't be an issue. Plenty of people do the bedding you put down and in Alaska they don't clean it until spring unless it warms up like it did this year. You will be glad that you put wallpaper up when you clean the coop!

Not sure if it will work for your set up but when I had chickens, I got one of those heated dog water bowls from tractor supply (seeing the wood chip bag reminded me) to keep the water from freezing in the winter. Thought I would throw that out there just in case you wanted to try it for this coming winter 😁

FOLKS- DON"T USE WHITE FOAM/ Styrofoam where the chickens can get to it. They will peck at it and eat it. I Like the wall paper idea. Wish I had thought of that. If you have a local sawmill, you can often get a trailer load of sawdust or shavings for the coop for little to free. Nice looking coop. looks better than my house.

I love the mirror. the girls get to check themselves out when they walk by and the nesting box is a genius idea use the cube storage. I told my sister what you did because she is wanting chickens this summer and she is going to hit up the thrift store by her house because she saw one this past monday.

Babe, you know the chickens don't care if it 's pretty. Also, be careful in the woods when you go mushroom hunting, it's getting warmer, snakes are coming out, be careful to only put your hands where you have a clear field of vision. I'm told those anti-venom shots are very painful. Does one of the kids know how to drive yet? Might be prudent to teach them in case you get hurt. Cos I know that man of yours is a busy little beaver, got lots to do away from home, helping to save the lost. God Bless, honey. You're doing great.

The 12 year old isn’t driving anything but the tractor for a while. I have friends in the neighborhood across the street should something happen. And the pretty is for me, it covers the insulation so they can’t eat it and is easy to clean. 🤷‍♀️

The insulation had to be covered it was dangerous for the chickens if left where they could peck it. Nothing can be done to the cabin for a month while the floor beams in the living room are slowly straitened out. If you judge someone based on cheap Walmart wallpaper then you may be the one with the issue, not me. Oh, and I’ve never claimed to be poor, I didn’t beg for money for this, no I’ve been working extra shifts with the vet office to cover this. We don’t take vacations, so if I want to do something with MY money I can! Not every penny has to go to looking for missing people, especially when I earned it as a vet tech busting my butt!
