@@MrCreepjo She did a lot of work on Bloodborne as well. Her name is on almost every track alongside a few others. She was the main composer for DS3, whose soundtrack's views surpass those of even Bloodborne, and she is now the main composer for Sekiro, which is already a highly regarded game. All of Fromsoftware's most revered compositions were made partly by her, or even exclusively by her. Abyss Watchers, Soul of Cinder, Slave Knight Gael, Midir, and Friede & Ariandel, just to name a few. These all have millions of views on KZbin alone. In fact the only big soundtracks that she didn't have a part in making to my knowledge are Gwyn, the Nameless King, and maybe one or two of Bloodborne's tracks though I'm pretty sure she was always part of the team there.

Elden Ring's exploration music is a compromise between Sekiro and BB. Just enough music to fill the emptiness, and serves as a combat/stealth indicator. But easily tuned out, it's supposed to be background sound. I loved Sekiro's music, but Senpou Temple monk chants got annoying quick. Everytime you go into combat, even if just a few seconds, you get big in your face music. In Elden Ring, combat starts and music stays low, just enough drum and chord change to let you know someone aggro'd. Elden Ring saves the big music for boss fights. And if you don't like drony ambient sounds, sure you won't like it. But I loved the first time I opened that trap chest and teleported to the royal capital. And the first time I took the epic elevator to Siofra... incredible ambient music in this game.

Maybe you don't know how musicians act. They are special in many ways, real musicians are used to small and untidy spaces in the studios and rooms which have many cables, bottles and a ton of other things and junk beside the instruments. They have to display their ideas and motives into the music, everything around them is not important, only the sound and the quality of the song or composition. Food on the table could be rotten and they wouldn't even notice, the project is always more important. She looks like a true talent, I think when your goal and project is so big, like hers in current and previous game endeavors, you just want to give your 101%. If they asked her '' what do you think about your desk space? '' she would be confused by such a silly question. One of my best friends who is making a shit ton of cash from music producing is still using his 10$ keyboard and mouse combo which is half broken. Its just not that important. If you want to make a musician do their best you should let them be comfortable and make their own space convenient, they are very modest people when it comes to that.
@FBuilding

@@boleshuggah Hello :) I feel a certain condescending tone in your answer, which is too bad. As a Japanese, and a japanese woman at that, I'm sure she's very used to not complaining and is certainly very happy with the great job she has. That said, I can assure you a 150 dollars swivel arm for a monitor is a better option than a box. It helps posture, eye strain, and a lot of things that could get in the way of creativity. Also that romantic image of mad scientist you offer is maybe true for some, very much untrue for others. Many composers have fantastically clean desks.

@@FBuilding I don't think she's asked because she probably doesn't care. Seeing that she's kind of important to the company, they'd probably give her a throne if she asked. And if it was a problem, she'd probably just buy her own computer stand.

@@FBuilding Okay, a swivel arm would be better, but if she doesn't ask for it than why bother? FS is a big developer and a big company but if she doesn't want change than it is not a problem, if she doesn't want a better monitor stand then it is not needed. Cater to the people who make the game more special, who cares for the box and the desk, if she likes it than leave her be. I am not condescending, I just want to say that you should leave artists to make art, don't give something to them if they don't need it or want it (yes, even something as silly or cheap as a monitor stand), especially if it can change their working area. I disagree with the statement about creativity, there is no barrier to an artist showing creativity or an idea if they have something up in mind . I don't want to argue man, I'm just saying from experience that things like a monitor stand or desk space doesn't matter to an artist

@@IronTarkus876 Most of Bloodborne's songs were composed by a team of about 4 composers (Cris Velasco and Bear McGreary for instance, who worked on games like Darksiders 3 and God of War 2018). Kitamura was pretty much always a part of it though. Her name is on almost every single track, from the Blood Starved Beast to Father Gascoigne to obviously Gherman The First Hunter. Not only that, she is the main composer for DS3, whose soundtrack views usually surpass those of Bloodborne despite being released later (Source; good old Shirrako). I'd say she's definitely the major factor of Fromsoftware's stellar music, Bloodborne included. Also, Lady Maria was a fucking epic soundtrack, and I didn't even know she did this by herself.
