If a brain-computer interface (BCI) implant could help millions of people, should we brush it aside just because we’re scared of what it could bring about?
What about the very real people whose lives could be forever changed thanks to this technology? Is it fair to them for us to call for a stop in the development of these implants?
I had the privilege of meeting one of the people whose lives have already been transformed by this technology: Noland Arbaugh, the first person to receive a Neuralink implant.
“I just want people to understand the technology, understand what we’re doing, understand what we’re trying to do, because it’s going to change lives for the better,” he told me.
His family was gracious enough to welcome me in their home. Now, I want to share his side of the story with you.
