I have so many mixed feelings. What cost are we gonna pay greatly just for the few. If anyone knows life, we reincarnate and do it again and again, but gonna introduce something that skips the normal process of life, and things we don't understand for the blind contract we sign entering life, the things we sign up for in any current life time. I'm 100% against the blind contract we all sign, but to go beyond that, It just opens up so many questions that are not explained. Shame on Elon to push and normalize these things without context. Well is some context, helping out people, but there is a deeper level to this, no one spends billions on tech out of the good of their heart, wanting to help people, that just doesn't happen.

One of Elon's comments about this tech was the idea of stitching severed nerves together with AI, with threads thinner than a human hair, and the robot has to be taught how to sew 1st before any humans go near the thing. There has been controversy because of the animal studies and euthanasia surrounding the procedures. This young man has taken the 1st step, and with how demanding Elon is with his timelines you'll be seeing more over the next few years. Then watch the FDA take decade to approve. Seriously :( Will this work for someone with a long lasting injury? I think that's between them and God, but sometimes all we need is a little hope in life to go forward, yes? This was all considered theoretical until Elon put his money where his mouth is, now we just wait and see. I'll be damned if no-one get's a Nobel prize out of this someday. Wishing you all the best.

Elon didn't do this though, it was a team of engineers that made it happen. He should be commended for deciding to invest in this tech, but we shouldn't fall into a cult of personality. It's important to give credit where credit is due.
@timbob114510 ай бұрын
@@AbadonBIack Of course, but without elons investment and influence this still wouldn't have happened, it's sad that's the case, but most investors and even medical companies don't want to make risky investments in untested ideas, they just wanna keep making money in tried and tested means that may or may not be in everyone else's interest. Elon deserves a LOT of credit for being so influential. If only there were more wealthy people with vision and belief in something better, they seem to be in very short supply. Yeh Elon's not the messiah, but doesn't it speak volumes about everyone else when one guy can set up several industry and/or world changing companies that all address incredibly important areas of research in the way they have and will continue to do so. Give the guy all the credit you can, it might encourage others to step up and push us forward. The long term effects of this chip to our nerve center and the potential rejection thereof is my primary concern regarding this chip. An exoskeleton would be cool and all, but I believe that will not happen at least to the degree most imagine. Most likely a neural bypass is the logical step for paralyzed individuals. An “exo-suit” would be little more than an aid for maintaining balance or rigidity. The issue being if the chip failed or the aid malfunctioned, minimal risk to the user is needed at least for the modern day.
