As an Armenian who grew up in the South Bronx I definitely can agree that it is a tough place to live in. I’m happy that I was able to move out. This was a really funny documentary especially seeing the fear on your faces. I agree with your point a lot of people do think America is a freedom country. In my opinion people get deceived coming here thinking life is going to be sweet when the reality is it is not especially as an immigrant. Every country has their bad side just like in India for example. You can’t just go to the hood and determine that the United States as a whole is the same as the hood you visited or saw on the internet. While reading the comments I noticed there were many comments of people saying or explaining how they fear for the safety of the Indian people living in the US. Which is understandable you guys are taking what you see on the video a brown man visiting the most dangerous part of New York and fearing for his life. Just like many Americans only seeing the bad side of other countries on social media and thinking that’s how it really is. As human beings I think it is very important to educate ourselves and stop assuming because doing so makes us all ignorant.
@heavenlypot2 жыл бұрын
We're not assuming things miss. America uses dumb tactics to pressurise other countries for their geopolitical gains, they give out these weird travel warnings just to humiliate other countries, and people in the comments are making fun of it, by saying that they're concerned about minorities in America because America uses paid organisations to give out baseless surveys every year about India. And on the other hand, it's not hidden how Americans think anything outside America is below them, when they themselves can't go in such neighborhoods. At the end of the day, there are good and bad sides of all countries but our problem is that western media has the control and they show only the bad sides of other countries while ignoring their own. This just paints a black and white picture. And if you're an Armenian, I don't understand why you are so offended by them showing the other side of America. Please take things easy.

@Sarah Williams, you have got it wrong about the comments from the Indian commenters. American here, we called the U.S. as a "3rd world country wearing a gucci belt", or "richest underdeveloped country in the world". Reasons? We have one of the worse healthcare in the world. We have no parental paid leave (except 13 states), but out of 50 states doesn't have parental paid leave. The federal minimum wage is the second lowest to the so called "developed country" with $7.25/hour nearly close to the poverty line wage which is $6.33/hour regardless the U.S. has one of the highest per capita income in the world. We have one of the highest school shootouts in the world. The highest incarceration rate in the world. We are rank as the 10th worse racial inequality in the world according to World Population Review. The cost of living is crazy expensive that most U.S. citizens need to work 2 to 3 jobs to have ends meet. Nearly almost 10 million U.S. citizens had left the country permanently. The most unwalkable country in the world. All of this I mention are directly linked to increasing financial oppression, poverty, and homelessness no thanks to underdeveloped policies we have that won't benefit the average American citizen.

I went to NY for the first time by myself a few months ago. I can confirm the subways are really scary and weird. I went from JFK to Brooklyn and I had to change subways in Bedford Stuyvesant which as you can see (5:35) that’s the second most dangerous place in NY. It was so crowded on the platform that if someone pushed you before a train or stabbed you than no one would even know, super bad vibes. Also I feel like the NY cops are also scared and avoid being down in the subway. I seen like 4 cops at the top by the entrance but not a single cop on the platform. There were like 60-70 people on the platform and half of them look dangerous, many arguing, yelling on the phone. ITS CRAZY

Bullshit. Bed-Stuy isn’t dangerous at all. NYC subways are over a century old so upgrading them due to costs has been very difficult, but station infrastructure aside, it is one of the most efficient rail systems in the world. Most of NYC in safe, except maybe certain neighbourhoods like East Harlem, South Bronx, Far Rockaway Queens! 90% of NYC is infact safe. There are parts of America which are more dangerous than NYC.

No, it’s more complex than that. @@RyuKami_ Compare the number of crimes prevented by guns with the number of crimes committed by guns. In the US, we have a problem with school shootings. In India, they have a problem with religious riots. Many people die in Indian religious riots. And your state, through a British era law, prevents you from easily owning firearms. So the average Indian is just a sitting duck when mobs of people come to burn their houses. In Bangalore, some guy made a Facebook comment about Muhammad and the ensuing riots by Islamists killed a few people and injured over a thousand. And this place is supposed to be the Silicon Valley of India. What a joke.
