If Enoshima is close to where you live in Kanagawa, you might like Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Sempai. Quite the opposite of the name, the titular "bunny girl" outfit only makes a scant two-scene showing in the entire season. Rather, it's a supernatural mystery/comedy story with some incredibly good characterization and an intriguing plot. It mostly takes place in real locations along the Enoshima line from Shichirigahama station along the way to Fujisawa. It, along with Bocchi and Frieren, is one of my favorite anime of the past decade. Worth checking out, even if it isn't music themed.

Good point. My feeling is that they don't mind about people coming there due to the anime, but they want you to be there for the shows primarily. If you're paying more attention to the building than the stage, it would be seen as highly rude, especially as the venue is prime for aspiring artists who want your attention. I had a bit of an advantage as I am friends with one of the artists who played that night, but I used a very small camera, and walked around quickly before the show. All things considered, the staff were very pleasant. However, I totally agree, it is very important to respect the venue, afterall, it is that very special atmosphere that made it an inspiration for Bocchi The Rock afterall, so we all need to be careful to preserve it as more than just a tourist spot :)

I do agree, the good news is though that you can't enter unless you buy a ticket for a show, and they almost always ask you who you are there to see (from whatever the talent list is for that night), so it should be welcoming for music fans but not for casual wanderers. At very least, if someone was rude enough to do that, the venue would still make money ;) . Good point though, let's hope everyone shows respect.

@lyriclearner Жыл бұрын
Hi there! To enter the Shelter you need to be seeing an event. There is no non-event admission that I am aware of. The best way to do this is to go to The Shelter's website and find an event you are interested in :) , then there should be links to buy the tickets, or you can google the event by name. It's always good to check the artists out before attending so you can find something you really enjoy. Most Shelter bands really rely on ticket sales, so support something you really like the look of, then you get double the enjoyment from your visit ;) ! Good luck!

I've heard from some other people that you're not allowed to film inside the venue. Is that true?
@lyriclearner Жыл бұрын
Good comment! This is actually quite complicated though. Firstly is the matter of what show you are going to see. Some shows and their organizers insist on no photography (incl video) at all. This may seem old fashioned, but it considered the default in Japan, despite more and more artists shifting away. Sometimes you can go to a show where some artists will allow and some won't for example, so the rule can actively change during the show. Then there is the issue of filming when lights are up. This is basically considered a no-no as well, however, if you talk to the staff and are very discrete, it can be allowed. This is how I went about it, and I also made sure to speak to several of the other patrons so I had friends in the room and didn't come across as an unapproachable weirdo lol. Unfortunately, if you factor this all together, it can seem like an impossibility, but I would say it isn't really. Most of the time, it is a mixture of 3 things: 1) check the event rules 2) bring a visible but small camera like a phone cam 3) communicate with the staff and any patrons who may get in your shots. You do that and you can probably film most places :) Hope this helps.... wow did I ramble lol!

@lyriclearner Жыл бұрын
Good question! I must admit that I don't know how many hands it has passed between, since its inception as a manga and then direction as an animation, however, if I was to assume it was mostly led by the author then yes! I was at a gig today and I thought about how Bocchi's author probably had a taste of this world and is able to contextualize it more as an adult (perhaps) now. I actually have started to build a few fairly large conclusions like this that I hope to address when I do my final series review. We will get there eventually! However, if the author had anything less than a fond experience of this area, they did wonderful research to capture the environment. You can feel pretty much like you are there from Bocchi The Rock, and that is amazing! Thanks for posting :) !
