Let's keep Charles Vickers has Sauron throughout all seasons. It is like he was born to play and act has Sauron. He has brought Tolkiens villain with great effort.

Just realized that Celebrimbor was giving Sauron the title of 'Lord of the Rings' to belittle and mock him saying he's a small man who ultimately had dominion over a bunch of magic rings, and simultaneously a prisoner of them.
@DBProductions12345-mАй бұрын
yes
@DesmondDentrestiАй бұрын
Annatar had given Celebrimbor the title of Lord of the Rings originally. When Celebrimbor was actually a slave to their creation being forced with no alternative through outside pressures. In much the same way, Sauron has started down this track and it has become his only option. This plan to use the rings is either going to work and grant him the glory he sought or is going to lead him to ruin. In that sense Sauron's fate is the same as Celebrimbor's. So turning that title, with all its false glory, that veiled a prideful downfall back onto the person that first weaponized it was kind of perfect. That idea is going to echo in Sauron's mind for the rest of time whether he is revelling in success or not.

my favorite thing about LOTR was having a favorite charator, (as a kid) which mine was Legolas/Gandolf/Frodo, but when i got older, it completely switched, into Sam, when you realize he was the main charactor. It ends with him getting the girl, having the kids, closing the door with a mission accomplished, without his morals the story would have ended in tragity. I love that about those movies, the unexpected supporting charactor, was actually the main charactor.

Galadriel rewritten as an antagonistic Girl Boss character causing conflict and making terrible decisions... The orcs humanised with babies and not wanting to fight (soooooo... Fast Travel points unlocked across the world for people to effortlessly pop up wherever the plot needs them to be... Oh yeah, not much deviation there.

How people can give this show anything but praise is beyond me. I admit, I wasn't completely sold on the first season - but that's nothing new. I don't know how many shows I've seen that start off kind of "meh" because they have to, to establish the characters, the world, the themes and whatnot. Season two is honestly - to me - up there with Breaking Bad and the earlier seasons of Game of Thrones. These happen to be my favorite shows of all time. Charlie and Charles played Sauron and Celebrimbor to absolute perfection. Adar, Elrond, Galadriel, the two Durins, Disa...amazing. all of it, amazing. Sure, the story of Gandalf, Tom Bombadil, the dark wizard and the hobbits might be a bit slow, but I don't mind. It fits the story. If that storyline would've gone bananas at the same time as the one with the creation of the rings it would've been utter chaos - in a really bad way. Oh, and Numenor. Holy crap, what a set-up for what's to come! I can't wait to see how the writers, directors and the rest of the crew are gonna expand on and tackle the fall of Numenor, by the manipulating hand of Sauron. The only two "bad" things are: 1. I will miss Celebrimbor so damn much, you have no idea. 2. The same goes for Adar. My god, what a character. To everyone involved; from the bottom of my heart - thank you for telling this story. And please, for the love of all that is good and just - don't let the haters get to you. We, the fans, are out here and we are the majority. Don't let the vocal minority put you down. We love what you are doing and we are all going to be here for it - more than ever in season 3! Final words: Charlie Vickers IS Sauron, and I am prepared to fight anyone who disagrees with me on this. What a legend!

Beautiful, spectacular ending to season 2. Must say i have watched LOR for twenty years and I never realised how incomplete the story was until ROP. Im just a bit torn about my feelings toward Sauron. The creator of the character and the talent of the actor brought much needed action and drama to season two. Despite his evil intentions, he is such a complex character, captivating and serene at times that I have developed an unwanted crush on him. Sick as he is, I will never think of him as just a villain anymore.Thumbs up to whoever casted the actor. Season one was entertaining, but slow to grasp, and it lacked the one thing that made LOTR an unforgettable saga, and that was heart and good character development. Season two was much better, way better. Isildur is starting to grow on me and so is Elrond and the dwarfs and everyone. I'm getting emotionally attached and invested in the characters and their journeys end and that is what I was looking for in season two and the creators delivered. So thanks.

Before we judge adaptations, we need to acknowledge the depth of Tolkien’s creation. He didn’t just write stories; he crafted entire races, cultures, languages, and mythologies from scratch. The show strays far from the original source in several key ways: • Galadriel was never a sword fighter. She was a powerful sorceress who studied under divine beings. Yet, do we see her using magic in the show? • Her mission wasn’t one of personal revenge against Sauron. She pursued him because he was the right hand of Morgoth, the embodiment of evil. Galadriel was one of the few beings who could never be deceived by Sauron. She would have seen through his lies and disguises from the start. As for Númenor: • The Númenóreans weren’t just ordinary humans. They were a superior race tall, strong, highly intelligent, and known for their love of horses. Yet, the show portrays them inaccurately. • Númenóreans didn’t ride horses into battle because they were too tall and heavy, but they deeply cherished their horses and would never bring them to war. • Many of the key protagonists in Númenor shouldn’t even exist in the timeline the show portrays. These discrepancies make it hard for fans of Tolkien’s work to fully embrace it. I can keep going Remember, in Season 1, Galadriel’s brother is portrayed as dead, but that’s inaccurate. In Tolkien’s lore, elves like him could be given new bodies if they wished, meaning he didn’t have to remain dead. This is another example of the show taking liberties with the source material, which frustrates fans who are familiar with the deeper aspects of Tolkien

Reviewers largely hate this show, which has lost a spectacular amount of viewers across its two-season run. I haven't watched it, but I've seen an awful lot of clips of it, and followed a lot of reviewers, and Christ, it seems bloody awful. From the insulting Generic Oirish Idiot accents used for the Harfoots (memorably described by one unimpressed Irish TV critic as 'Famine Cosplay' accents), to insultingly rewriting Galadriel as some kind of rote Girl Boss antagonistic character, to humanising the orcs (who just want Famleeeee time with their babies), the utterly pointless drawing out of The Stranger's identity as Grand-Elf... Grandelf... Gandalf!, the Yoda-ising of Tom Bombadil (soooo... He's Not really Tom Bombadil, then?), lazily writing lines to tie characters and scenes and plots to things that Peter Jackson did (and did much better) in His films (memberberries time!), characters seeming to fast travel about to easily and quickly be wherever the plot needs them to be rather than taking weeks or even months to travel just one way across the world, and so, so, so much more, it looks like the showrunners have largely taken a big, steaming dump across Tolkien's lore and legacy. Again, I haven't watched the series, but from the many, many clips and episode reviews I've seen, and reviewers' analyis, it's clear that this is all a deeply disrespectful take on Tolkien's lore, rewarded as such by its plummeting viewership. These two actors, however, have been universally praised as being great for the show (they're two out of the four same actors/relationships which are constantly praised, even by the show's harshest critics). The script and plots haven't been great for them, but they clearly did their best with what they were given, so well done to them both. It'll be interesting to see if Amazon do indeed make the full five seasons, as claimed...

Aside from all the valid critiques from so many people in so many videos, one of my biggest ones is how everyone is trying to pretend like this is so amazing. There ARE such things as objective meters by which a story can be measured, and this show falls short of all of them. From ignoring basic logic and the laws of physics, to poor editing that is extremely jarring, the cliche dialogue, even to the music which somehow after 2 seasons still has no notable theme in it. The show looks like its run by amateur film makers.

I really liked the series. The fantasy is simply stunning. Therefore, I will only say "Keep up the good work, Amazon" .Tolkien's epic in this series is already a little distorted, so we need to fantasize a little more in the third season. Why not? So, let's imagine that Sauron needs a new body to carry out his dark plan in Numenor. But unfortunately in Numenor he is already known as the King of the South. And he also became a blonde with a cute bow on his head 😊. Of course, this is inconvenient for him, so he urgently needs a new image. So he finds his new body in Morgoth's secret dungeon. Morgoth tortured the elves in this dungeon. Adar came out of there in the form of an Uruk. Celeborn is imprisoned in this dungeon. Sauron magically replaces Celeborn's body with his own. Sauron, having received a new body and appearance, goes to Numenor. And this new body will be destroyed along with Numenor. But Celeborn in the form of Sauron will escape from the dungeon and come to Gladriel. Gladriel thinks that he is Sauron. And then there will be a small battle... etc. But only Celeborn and Elrond know Gladriel's real name, the name given to her by her father "Artanis"... The name Gladriel is given to Artanis by Celeborn when she is very young dancing under the light of the trees Telperion and Laurelin.. If the third season continues with this scenario, it will be a little crazy, but interesting, right? In the end, Gladriel must somehow give birth to Celebrian, the future wife of Elrond, right?😅
