Christmas is essentially just Christians misappropriating Yule. That’s your experience. Those are the people you’ve been around. If you met the Catholics in my area they would invite you to their events and treat you as they treat each other regardless of your beliefs. As a practising witch (and wiccan), I just want to say that whatever path you choose for yourself to follow is your choice and noone should intervene in that... Just do what you will and try to harm none. You can be a witch and not be a wiccan, as well, it's really all upon you. In the old times we had to hide very thoroughly because of the persecution, torture and cruel murdering of those who were believed to be witches*, there were pretty harsh rules the covens had to follow, etc. But today, we no longer need to hide that much. Wicca is a religion and not every wiccan believes in the power of magick, but witchcraft is no religion, it's a spiritual path, that's essential to understand. *Needless to say, most of those persecuted for 'the sin of witchcraft' were not witches and had absolutely no idea what real magick is. People (especially women, but also men, in some cases even animals) were being hunted, tortured and then murdered. It's really sad, but that's how it used to work... So for example let's say there was someone you didn't like, - then you could just simply have blamed on them witchcraft and they'd likely perish.

I did a spell that required me to look in a mirror and say a certain incantation and the next day I was fucked I've noticed I heard talk above my head and no one was in the room with me but myself.
