Our home that the parents built in 1960 had all turquoise built in appliances, sink, mounted electric can opener, telephone, etc. We had the white formica with turquoise starburst pattern. We had custom built table built in with the same formica and a horseshoe booth, also turquoise. We had a guest bathroom and then a Jack & Jill bathroom between my sister's room and mine. The master ensuite was downstairs and my brother had his ensuite down there also. Technically, the home was split level, with winding staircases up and down from the foyer, with wrought iron railings and a huge planter filled with live rubber plants. The house had a sort of Frank Lloyd Wright look happening with lots and lots of picture windows. We loved that house. Mother cried when she found out that the new owners were gutting the house, completely eliminating the cool sixties vibe.

3 years it’s been sitting without the development… was really nice to actually see what was to replace this home .. didn’t look bad but I’m must say I never agree with demolishing a perfectly GOOD house such as this one …. Someone could have at least been renting this out until they got started , but perhaps it won’t be built and this place will sit ( with the power still on

The continuous waste of precious resources that building materials are made with, is gonna end, and become highly regulated. We are entering a future quite soon, where creating senseless waste by proposing to knock down perfectly good houses will become illegal. Anyone who works in construction would know too, how much they waste of what they don’t use when they do construction. It’s got to stop.
