Mark, I love that you gave the 2003 team the respect it deserves. I don't hear many talk about that team, it's my favorite Carroll team. Great defense, a veteran offensive line, and the receiver tandem of Williams and Colbert along with freshman Steve Smith was unstoppable. Matt Leinhart was playing out of his mind by the time we got to Notre Dame and should have been one of the 5 players at the Heisman ceremony that year. His numbers were better that year than the year he won the Heisman. Just a really fun team to watch.

I’ve heard comments from this show twice about Bear Anderson not playing that well, like making flashes at times. I heard this in last weeks show and then again this week. Guys. Didn’t you see that Bear was double and triple teamed last season? The fact that he was able to make plays at times even with all of that says a lot about him. I think if we can get more production right next to him it will help out immensely, maybe even free him up at times to get to the quarterback more often. As Chris mentioned, Coach Henderson is going to have quality time with Bear, Anthony Lucas and the rest of the D-Line guys and coach them up, develop them. I do think we will see a jump from Lucas, as well as the rest of the D-Line. I trust Henderson to develop them and am looking forward to seeing it happen! Regarding the questions game, I’m going to have to go ahead and deduct five points from Chris, who was unfair to Mark. On the last question, Eric added Thursday to his answer. Thursday is not part of the weekend, which was the underlying basis of the question that Chris asked. But I’m not giving the points to Mark, who yet again shot himself in the foot by conceding the game to Eric. I am instead awarding the points to myself, for having to sit through Chris’s unfairness, Marc’s continued losing streak of self destruction and Eric’s continued insisting to either not answer questions in the way they were asked, or by all too often supplying lists of answers when only one is asked for. It’s true that I feel like I won, because the game was so darn funny with all of the shenanigans goin on! With all of that said, this show was incredibly entertaining and I sincerely thank each of you for turning out great ones like this week after week.

Do you think that Suggs can make the join if we do bring him in or will there be an effort with the next window to find DL help? Will this give the defensive staff & player enough time in our system to be effective? Is there someone on the roster that could emerge to fill this hole.....or will our run defense only be marginally improved over last years debacle? Is the A&M OLineman Foster a diamond in the rough or fools gold, we are thin there also?

USC needs to incorporate TEs in the offense more, run more double TE sets and exploit matchups. Lincoln needs more wrinkles.

I think it’s a tough first year in the Big Ten for USC. Likely 7-5 but might get lucky and go 8-4. If defense improves I think the 2nd year in the Big Ten is USC year to go 10-2 and 3rd year in with continued defensive improvements will be in the playoff. If you guys can give Lincoln that long and he stays committed to defensive improvement.

Gents, any thought that USC's NIL efforts are focused at this point on High School recruiting and then retaining of those players? Just wondering if this is the strategy that they are employing?

I think that's definitely a possibility. That, and a constrained budget that limits how "all in" we can go on a single player.

Well, they'd really have to try to be worse then last years defense. But moving to the BIG10 won't help any when you're undersized and lacking proven talent in key positions. This won't be a top tier team in conference play this year, but they should still definitely expect a winning season.

If USC and Oregon are both offering me the exact same money.... It's a no-brainer I'm going to Oregon over USC. If Oregon is also offering MORE MONEY? Than it really makes it an easy decision. Now if you're an offensive player... you have to at least think about it. especially if you are a receiver running back or quarterback. But on the other hand Oregon is putting QBs in the league and the have a damn good offense.

You are severely overrating our offense. We won’t average 40 pts a game, we have the same average oline with a less mobile qb who is still unproven. We’ll play much better defenses in more hostile environments and unpredictable weather makes for lower scoring games. I predict we struggle early on and maybe go thru a qb switch, we will be middle of the pack, not underrated or overrated. We’ll just be as Klatt predicted, 15 or so, decent but not playoff caliber 😕

Harmon not even a top 10 DL in the Big10 last year and you guys act like he is elite he’s far from that. And Williams I went to every TCU home games with friends who has family playing there. Williams is very slow down demand double teams. Bear was always going to be double and triple teamed no matter who SC got. Matter of fact Bear would be a lot better NT then any or those guys period.
