Let’s put an end to the comparisons with Pete Carroll's USC teams. The current Trojans squad just couldn’t neutralize Michigan’s strengths. Wisconsin had open receivers, but their quarterback struggled with accuracy. While this USC team is solid, we need to pump the brakes on the comparisons for now. Hopefully, they’ll continue to improve and start delivering more complete performances.

Lincoln Riley is NEVER going to compare to Pete Carroll. Pete actually was one of the favorites to win a National Title in his 3rd year. Lincoln Riley is NOT winning a National Title in his 3rd year or any year.

Get creative. Use what you got. Start practicing a package with your best pass blockers (from o line, WRs, TEs) and have Maiava at QB with Joyner/Marks. Load the box and rush strong side. For 4th and 4 or shorter.

Great Podcast👍 I agree totally with Marc on his analysis on the Offensive side🏈 and his assessment on more pressure defensively on the QB. We have a young offensive line that's going to have to step it up mentally and physically! They're battle tested and have to adjust to the Conference Officiating in being more aggressive in "Holding" their blocks.✌️

A reminder, our defense was also in the sleepwalking mode in first half, it’s not just offense. And let’s also give flowers to Coach Henny, Entz, Nua and Belk

I like Eric’s assessment of the O Line. We got some young pieces that are being mixed and matched. Coach Henson knows what he’s doing and it handling the matter. The group as a whole can and will continue to work their asses off in practice and they will improve. By the end of the year, come playoff time, this unit will be a strength.

I get what you're saying, my concern is that of development as 2nd and 3rd year players. In this Conference I see 3 and 4 star OL players in year 2 and 3 more developed playing as a cohesive unit.

@@TonyB-rv9qd I agree, but remember, theres 2 freshman and 1 junior and a group of youngsters behind them. This is a young work in progress here. Time and hard work will correct there issues I believe.

Agreed. Why do we need to wait until halftime to make adjustments? Call it out after the first 3 or 4 series on both sides of the ball make them then. Waiting too long against Nebraska or Rutgers and Def Penn ST could be a disaster.

Hmm, better or worse. I think better. They got there 1st Big 10 win. The O line is concerning but improving, the O struggled in the 1st half but was moving the ball and the D looked a little too much like last year the first couple of series with a receiver breaking out for a TD and a couple of big holes up the middle. But the business like way this team figures it out and takes over a game in the 2nd half. And they play hard. I love watching this D when they get their adjustments in and just choke a team to death in the 2nd half. I'm still sulking over the Michigan game the way they dominated the 2nd half and just lapsed at the end. But they really bullied Michigan 2nd half and now Wisconsin 2nd half.

Branch was actually OPEN on the INT (or rather, had beaten is man and was starting to separate); would've been off to the races, but for Moss's egregious, off-line underthrow directly to the DB positioned between QB and wideout. (SC's DBs might want to take notes: the Wisconsin defender made the play because he Looked At The Quarterback, instead of gluing his eyes to the receiver, oblivious to the ball's whereabouts.) Moss has a tendency to throw short balls in the dirt - easy passes where he kind of chokes, like the panicked shovel pass at Michigan and various screens & short routes last week. But then again he'll air out a 40-yard bull's-eye to Ja'Kobi Lane or Robinson. Plus he's tough and has shown a propensity for rising to the occasion (usually). Moss (with Riley as an accomplice) may wind up hospitalizing half his receiving corps on throws over the middle, or not-so quick outs to the sideline where Marks, Hudson, Branch and McCree have been sitting ducks - and have paid the price. Aside from Woody Marks' expropriation of the football from Michigan's probably-still-stunned lineman (likely an unbeatable feat), Moss's TD run is SC's play of the year thus far (Hudson's impossible catch notwithstanding).

Am I the only one that notices specifically the team underperforms in the 1st half? That with the exception of the Utah St. game, we have to come from behind in the 2nd half? What seems to be the mental problem with the players and based it keeps happening, what is the hardship with the coaching staff trying to fix it?

The way the guy in the red talks, you would think usc is a perennial top 5 team. USC hasn’t been relevant as a program since Pete Carroll and was a forgotten team prior to joining the big ten USC was losing at home at halftime to a badgers team that lost their qb and looked worst against Michigan as compared to the gophers. Minnesota is not a great team, but these guys are deluded to think usc will run over them

@@johnnyretro84 Gophers will likely lose due to the talent discrepancy, but to dismiss them outright is crazy. Based on everything I’ve seen from usc fans since joining the big ten, they are likely the most delusional. I would be fine if it was Ohio state, Michigan, Oregon or penn st talking about MN like this. Not a team like usc that has only finished within the top ten twice in 15 years
