This is Lyadov, and today I’m in an incredible place - the world’s youngest nation, South Sudan. It has gone through so many years of war fighting for independence that the number of people with guns here will blow your mind. All people including children have guns here in cities and villages alike and even in tribes living in the wild. People here are known to wash their heads with cow urine to make their hair golden brown. Some tribes blow their cows in the butts to make them produce more milk. They may seem weird but the fact is that they have been able to preserve their unique authentic culture though decades of war in absence of any order, through complete chaos.

You actually emphasize what is important to you and your perceived audience I see a community recovering from decades of civil war trying to live their lifes without begging for assistance . I see the beautiful architecture of their huts, their serene environment and feel their empathy for others including your good self You came out as portraying the people’s culture as ‘ bizarre’ , mockingly sentencing the poor kid goat to the stew pot. Kid goats get raised to maturity before determining what happens to them! By the way those clusters of family compounds constitute kindreds. It is the first level of community. A community of kindreds may constitute your ‘sub tribe’ - but we call it community! More…. Why glamourize a law breaking Tour guide?. Hear you -- do they really walk around .. stark naked?. iPhone , the kids might not have encountered, … mirrors; maybe not. Those guns are basically used by cow herders to protect their cattle from cattle rustlers. In the tradition of the Cow Boys of the Wild Wild West.
