When you dive you often need to equalize the pressure in your ears at the one of the water you're in while descending. It's to prevent pain or worse. You actually just need to stop your nose and try to blow, like at 3:18. So if anyone is scared of diving because of pain in ears, it's one of the first thing you learn to prevent ;)
