Love Buc ee's but I got beef with drivers there. Maybe half the pumps have cars just parked there, no driver. They've gone into the store to shop and enjoy themselves all the while blocking pumps for drivers who need fuel. Makes me crazy. I'm a chopped brisket guy myself. Their burritos are top notch.

We love the diesel prices and also the chicken burrito and brisket. Our two favorite buc-ee's in Georgia and Florida: exit 144 off of i-75 at Warner robins and exit 323 off of i-95 world of golf in St Augustine Florida. The worst one is in Georgia exit 310 off i-75 near Calhoun: You will struggle getting in and out because the pumps are all on one side and one exit. We never stop at that one one anymore.

Thanks for the tour and the tips. I laughed when the TEXAS fans of Buc-ee's said they can't build a 80k sqft store in Florida and the company decided not to build any more stores outside of TEXAS bigger than 74ksqft 😂. I guess that means the one They just built in north Eastern (Front Range area) of Colorado isn't any larger than the 74ksqft. Keeping the saying true. EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS. hope that Buc-ee's builds a store on My side of the Rockies here on the WESTERN SLOPE OF COLORADO.

We have stayed at both of those campgrounds and loved the Alsatian RV Resort. Did you stop by Haby's Alsatian Bakery in Castroville? That place is awesome ! When you stopped at the River Bend campground in Luling I'm surprised Phil didn't take the short drive up to Lockhart (the BBQ Capital of Texas) for some real Texas Brisket. Oh Yeah, I always have to get the banana pudding and their chocolate pie pudding. :-)

Luling, TX. Back in the day there were operating pump jacks in most front an/or back yards throughout the town, commercial and residential. Can't comment on now, but that very well may be what you smell. Was not seasonal, and do not think there were any refineries close enough to Luling to be problematic. Again, am 80 years old now, and have not visited Luling proper in 65 years, though we always stop at the Buckeyes there on our way to Houston area.

I’m with you Stacy chopped is the way to go. First time we went my wife went through 165.00, they are building one right now on I-95 at exit 42 in Georgia it’s amazing that it will have 120 fuel pumps. I’m with Phil on the pudding his expression when you took his pudding was priceless. Best part of the one we’re getting is I can’t have brisket daily if I choose to. Bu-cees is a destination not a convenient store or gas station.

We avoid the Buckies since some of them are not RV-friendly. We were parked out of the way in the back one time and we were asked to leave, they do not have parking for large rigs. We were there just to shop, not to spend the night. We have heard that several other RVer's have been asked to leave.

My friend works at one and she said they have problems with people leaving their trash, dog poo, and pee bottles in the parking lots. They monitor when they can, and if someone has stayed over 1 hour, they check the vehicle to see what's up. If you tell them you won't be staying and purchasing something you can stay for a reasonable time. They don't want boondockers...

Don't beat yourself up...20 years ago I was picking my Suburban up at the Chevy dealership shop and noticed a little 4-banger aluminum engine sitting on a pallet with a piston rod poking out the side of the block. I asked the service writer what that was. He said...Oh, some nice older gentleman took off in his Class A with his Geo Metro TOAD still in 1st gear! It was more expensive to replace that aluminum 4 cylinder than the crate 454 CID I just had put into the Suburban. BTW, we use walkie talkies when backing, tight maneuvering, light testing, etc. Beats screaming.

We quit the Bucees! Seems always crowded, people park ( blocking) at gas pumps, and go in for long periods of time, and maneuvering or parking a towable RV is difficult. Actually disappointed at their policy and design discriminating against Truckers. We need them!No more!

We were heading down to Florida this last April stopping at a great Harvest Host in Indiana. It wasn't necessary to unhook. Pulling out in the morning I forgot to put the toad in neutral. I felt a heavy drag and after 5 feet I stopped. Luckily we were on gravel, so the gravel took the abuse not the transmission or tires. I called the host and left a message about the skid marks and that on our way back home I would restone that area. When we came back through a couple of weeks later, I brought a couple bags of stone but the host said not to worry about it.

Don't feel bad. We did a similiar FUBAR last week in Whitehorse, YT, by leaving our Honda CRV in park accidentally. I towed it about 100yds on a gravel road inside and RV park before some guy comes running out to let me know the wheels weren't turning. I made a lot of dust, and I didn't even feel the lack of power idling around the RV park at 2mph. Gravel doesn't produce any squeal sound, just dust. Embarrassing. We've changed our procedure to prevent it from happening again. This was the first time this has happened in 5yrs. I guess I'm not used to our RED 33AA w/360HP, just bought in Dec, has too much power!

The smell in Lulling is the oil wells in the area, and it just depends upon the wind direction. As for Buc-ee's, it is the convenience of being close by, cheap fuel, good brisket sandwiches and with the TDECU Buc-ee's card and additional 5% off everything, include fuel. Going there tomorrow to get 300 pounds of ice for the pool. Those with a pool in Texas know how hot it can get.

Brake checks besides light check and wheels spinning... Do _you_ look into your toad when Phil is behind the wheel of the coach and LOOK for the brakes on the toad _actuating_ when he hits the brake pedal? 3 postings to the tiffin groups recently of failure of the brake actuation cables on Air Force One brakes. We had it happen to us too.... So we always look in the window and watch the brakes actuate. The brake lights can come on without the brake pedal actually moving.

I loved the chopped brisket sandwich and cinnamon sugar beaver nuggets. It was a totally different experience than going to a Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutter's in Pennsylvania. I'd love to return to Buc'ees when it's not so crazy in there!!

I'm not sure why Husband didn't put this up for our viewing last week, but here it is this week and we're watching it. SO, I'm pretty sure by now you're way past CO. But JUST IN CASE you didn't know, there's a rather new Bucees in Ft. Collins CO near Johnson's Corner truck stop. We've not been there; it wasn't open before we left the state we lived in for over 60 years (individually -- one of us for over 67 years, one of us closer to 60 because I've been in and out a few times in earlier years). BUT we hope to stop at the new Bucees in September. We hope to see you, sometime, On the Road.

"Fill" was being "phacetious."😂 Something told me that salted caramel would be a dud. I have to make it to a Buccees in my lifetime, and I will certainly be trying BOTH brisket sandwiches.

So why did only one tire leave a black mark? Inquiring minds want to know. Phil - facetious - just like it sounds, but kidding is a better word. Never use 50 cent words when a nickel word will work. As far a Buc'ees goes I think I'll pass way too many people and I'm not a big fan of junk food. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

We pull a Cherokee also. Had an issue one time with brakes not releasing. Long story. THought my wife was going to have to drive the Jeep back to Ft Worth from Davis Mountain State Park, following me in our older Alfa diesel pusher. But we figured it out!

Hope the golfers know how to play and don’t hit your RV with a golf ball. My 5 year old niece got hit in the head by a golf ball. Fortunately she is okay. Love Buc-ee’s Nuggets. 😋

The Buc ee's in Goodyear, AZ is going to be 75,400. So it will beat the one in TX.
@todayissomeday

This one is not exactly 75k. I think its 75,600 but dont quote me. According to the CEO, no Bucees outside of Texas will be larger than the Luling store. They want the title to stay in Texas.

Staying at Sun Outdoors Granby, Colorado this week. Watched a Class A pull out of the RV park and as they were driving out the front of their tow vehicle got ripped off. The car slid down the edge of the road and the front of the vehicle was attached to the Class A and laying on the ground.

Buc-ee's is a must stop. So many goodies, but my go-to are the brisket sammich & bag of chips for lunch and a bag of Beaver Nuggets for the road. My non-purge purchase was a set of two Buc-ee's car coasters. They make me smile every time I get in the car. 🙂🦫
