Onboard camera, commentary, and power numbers from round 4 of the Lifetime Grand Prix, Chequamegon 40 mountain bike race. Part one is the battle for position into the Firetower Climb, and up and over Firetower which created the final selection. Part two is the final 7 miles of the race including the 6 person sprint for the win, plus a bit of the post race banter in the finish corral.

Crazy that lifetime racers are putting together better race content than lifetime itself

This race looks like it would be a bit difficult to get a bunch of good video, with as small as the trails are. Barely room for the riders a lot of the time it seems.

"Watch out guys, Daddy's primed" Lol Nice response. Great video breakdown Payson. You always do a good job breaking things down for those of us who don't race. It helps me learn what to look for when watching races. Thanks, man!

So good! If Tobin wouldn’t have gone so early, he probably would have won the sprint. Thanks for the coverage, I am a big fan! The race scenery is beautiful to watch.

I’ve done this race for 20 years. Breaking the 3 hour mark is considered a great race time for the age groupers. It’s absolutely incredible watching the lead pros and see the pace and up fire tower climb when most of the citizens, because volume of riders, have to walk up the 5 sets of hills. Certainly appreciate footage and commentary.

I really like these type of videos. Much more interesting than a production type recap of the race. This makes you feel like you are there in the saddle. The commentation is excellent. Thanks for sharing. BTW - I listed to your podcast. Newbie biker here. Trying to recover from injury and get back out there. Good luck on the series!

Awesome to hear what’s going on up front! With your platform and the crazy rides you do you should consider doing Judgement day in DFW, 10 trails, 100 miles. @7/21/2025. It can be anywhere from 150-200 miles of driving. A few brave souls actually ride the bike on the road in between. No one has finished to my knowledge. It would make for an epic video for someone if they capture it the way you do and your narration. Hit me up if you’re interested.

I just don't understand why Keegan is participating in chasing down his teammate?
@evdb7246
@evdb7246 4 ай бұрын
I mean, this question demonstrates that you don’t understand the purpose of teammates. Pretty basic concept. Figure that out and the rest will make sense. Quick google search should be all you’ll need.

@@evdb7246 the fact is when you got a teammate in a breakaway ahead of the race you don't do work with the rest of the chase group to pull them back in you sit on the back of the chase group doing no work that way when the chase group pulls you up to your teammate you can slingshot off the front.. I understand the concept well again I've been racing for many years. My question is why is he working with the chase group instead of setting on their wheels you don't work with the chase group to bring back your own teammate who's in the breakaway looks like you need to understand the concept of racing LMFAO 🤣

@@midwesttreasureandrelicrec7914 this is the most insane interpretation of team tactics I've ever heard...and I've raced cat3 for years before upgrading. In almost 20yrs of beer-league, BS amateur racing, your explanation takes the cake. And I've heard some sh*t...
@alansteel1409
@alansteel1409 4 ай бұрын
You say you have raced for years but clearly still haven’t figured out team tactics. The whole point of having a dangerous teammate up the road is so others have work and you can sit on. If not why send the teammate up the road to burn energy.
