I think a lot of these comments are just from people who think any story critical of conservatives or right wing politics is "fake news" even if its just as accurate as their less political content. Also, VIce never "went woke" they've been "woke" forever, long before it was repurposed as a meaningless snarl word. And going broke isn't really a thing, "woke" corporations do it because its profitable. If it was actually costing them money then movie studios, tech companies, big brands, etc wouldn't be doing it -- some individuals in the company might care, but as a whole corporations are basically uncaring automatons driven by profit and can't actually give a damn about social issues outside of whether it can make them money: its performative. If pandering to bigots made them more money, the abstract forces of profit motive animating the company would lead to the firing of anyone being "woke" and it would pander to bigots instead, just look at most of the 20th century. But culture, society changes and its now unprofitable. @@lukegaming86

And only later it was massively used as a pagan sign to help people survive hard times. @@tomtoms3442, russian here. The slav symbol that portrays the sun is called "Kolovrat" (Коловрат) and has a completely different picture. FYI, either sonnenrad and kolovrat are used by the nationalists throughout Russia, Ukraine and Belarus in the name of fight against immigrants and those they consider their enemies. Trust me, every citizen of Ukraine, Russia or Belarus will tell you about the real situation with nationalism and nazism in their country and the worst situation since 2000's was in Ukraine, where whole military units adopted nationalism and nazism as part of their in-unit culture. Search for such units as "Azov", "Tornado", they were deeply connected to extremism. And lemme tell you, I dont deny nationalism among russian troops, it is something that exist, but not something that is considered to be a nationwide problem. Treat this very symbol/patch on the hand of a ukrainian soldier as a proof that ukrainian army is not as white and democratic as western media wants you to see it. 38:40 Hilarious. Feel bad for this sales rep, for not having taken a course in "lawyer talk" from his Alma Mater. I loved all of his awkward responses, since he seemed to have a "knowing" tone in his voice, like everything that was coming out of his mouth was 110% military industrial complex bullshit, and he's somehow a middle man to all this stupid crap. Then his boss came along and ruined it all like a Japanese boss. "Why can't you answer vaguely?"

How do you explain his death if it wasn’t a mutiny against Putin?
@31ngel8 ай бұрын
@@chrischrin Putin isn't connected to military as much as minister of the MOD Shoigu or general staff of the MOD Gerasimov. There are speculations about who may had done it and there are several theories about levels of relations of these 3 aforementioned people. Judging from any side it is not known WHO actually was to benefit from Prigozhin's death the most, so it's wrong to assume straightly that it was in interests of Putin to commit assasination on his one of the most useful and valuable assets

Wagner is not a mercenary group, which implies they work for any nationality of the highest bid, rather it is the Russian equivalent of the French Foreign Legion. In fact, many of its members are Russians who left the French Foreign Legion to fight in their country's own equivalent once it existed.

I agree with what you are saying about them not being a traditional PMC group. They are basically a shadow group that Putin could use to progress and protect Russian interests. By calling themselves PMC’s, if they mess up Russia is not held accountable because they are not part of the Russian military. They do 100% of Putin’s bidding. They are basically another arm of the Russian government that can project plausible deniability. But I must disagree that they are somehow similar to the French Foreign Legion. The Legion is under direct command of the French military. Their existence is acknowledged. Their missions are insanely dangerous but at the end of the day they are a soldier in the French military. Wagner is not considered to be part of the Russian military.

I’m glad to see that a lot of this focused on CAR and their clients in Africa. The stories from Ukraine and the mutiny/Prigozhin’s death aren’t news to most people, but CAR is already a place your average westerner knows little about. I’m surprised at some of the stuff you had access to…think I’m most surprised they let those guys wear “je suis Wagner” shirts, with the whole “Russian instructors” thing to try to have some thin screen of plausible deniability.

The fact that we get free videos from VICE News on KZbin is priceless; keeping the education and knowledge alive 🙏🙏🙏 By the way, may I also remind you the fact that our Native American population in our motherland, the Continent of America before the European Colonizers arrived, was around 15 millions, while the European population in their motherland, the Continent of Europe was around 25 millions. Today, Native American population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering TWO BILLION! A shocking sad truth. 😔 In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people. Notorious global cardinal crimes the Christian West has committed, and benefited a great deals, such as Slavery & Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is notorious Colonization still lingering on, may I ask? 😔

@jamiemonroe41447 ай бұрын
What are you talking about? They literally embedded for a time with the "Russian Instructors" (Wagner) in CAR. You can see they were speaking with head of operations there and the deception/misdirection they were using to hide the crimes they had allegedly committed. Obviously there was anonymity with some of the people speaking out as they rightfully feared for their wellbeing had their claims been attributed to their names. Regardless, you also saw the lawyer who spoke out directly to the leader's face, and he was quick to take back his words after some further questioning.
@Gospodin_Kurac7 ай бұрын
@@jamiemonroe4144 Still it's outside Wagner. Journalist only gets to talk to the representative guy, not the actual fighters and conditions they live in. Asking a shady security company member have they committed any war crimes - No we totally didn't. In fact we were never there. We're not even here right now. As I said, impeccable journalism.

Am I the only one thinking this did more to show the Russians and Wagner are helping Africa. I'm kinda embarrassed for the reporter and got the sense half of the people she interviewed were dumbfounded at how stupid her questions were. Seemed like they wanted to see someone honestly wrestle with the ideas of how challenging it is to be an African Government under attack from rebels overthrowing the gov and faced with the choice of no support from the West or Russian support. Every single question ignored the the answer given prior and I'm positvive they won't release the long form interview because it will tell another story. A great opportunity to educate people on the real topic and it's thrown away to push a dumbed down version what VICE wants you to see. I am no way going to say they are innocent but can we all just admit this is getting so heavily skewed that there is no room for any honest conversation? Misunderstanding the other side is a good way to end up at war.
