Yes and no. The gist seems spot on. But I don't believe that a commander in the Sinaloa cartel agreed to a phone interview and broke down how much money is being made--that defies common sense. Don Corleone didn't give interviews to the New York Times. Also, 6-8 of these creatures are left? The Gulf of California is a huge body of water. If there were that few left, how would anyone ever see/find them? On the one hand, we have folks saying there are plenty of calves. On the other hand, we have folks saying there fewer than 10. How can we reconcile that? Lastly, the person who said he has no proof, but it's clear that there's a market in Europe. Huh? That seems sheer speculation. Again, the gist seems clear. I love Baja and worry greatly about the ecosystem. But there are issues here with the reporting. When the subject is this important, the journalism has to be bullet proof. And this is not.

@fieldofreeds85816 ай бұрын
Please research the extreme pollution of fish farming… one of those fish farms pollutes the amount equivalent of a town of 10,000 people. And what do large fish eat? Smaller fish… which are “wild caught”, so they will still be fishing everywhere to catch smaller fish to feed to the larger fish, just like they do with salmon and tuna. Watch the documentary Seaspiracy- it has great information about this. Fishing needs to stop… period!
